D23 memberships

Wasn't sure where to post this... Just wondering what D23 paid membership offers. It sounds like there are events that you'd be invited to but where are most of these events? Disney World? Disneyland? Another other benefits that you've enjoyed?

You will receive a quarterly publication. it is a really large magazine, nicely put together, really pretty pictures but any of the "news" is usually old news to me before it arrives.

There are a lot of movie previews and events but so far, none have been close enough for me to travel to or intersecting enough to entice me to travel. I keep saying I am going to go to the expo but I never get around to committing to buying tickets in time.

About once a year you get a cool box of collectables such as exclusive pin sets.

My review of D23 membership is mixed. I don't really get enough out of it to justify the expense but I have the money and i enjoy pretending it makes me important

Events are on both coasts.
movie tickets are good anywhere (that’s a crapshoot to get movie tickets)
better to sign up for a year under a discount plan of some sort.
