For those of you who purchase the D23 magazine at Barnes & Noble, it appears the magazine is now available at Borders. I was at our local Borders last night and found the Spring issue in the Entertainment section. I was pleasantly surprised since I'm not renewing my D23 membership and we don't have a Barnes & Noble in our town.

The Spring issue looks really good and worth purchasing.

Oh how I wish you could use their coupons on magazines. I belong to Border's Rewards so I always have a coupon from that, but the almost say they aren't good on magazines/periodicals. I just can't bring myself to spend $17 on a magazine.

just to give WaltD4me some background...the Borders coupons will NEVER be good on periodicals unless they run a specific periodicals coupon (which is rare). The margin is signficantly different on periodicals than other products thus no discount shared with the customers. This is true of nearly all retail. You may have noticed that some grocers and dept. stores used to offer 10% off their magazines and no longer do. It was giving away money. Most customers never even realized they were getting a discount nor did it encourage those on the fence to purchase. So, although I too would love to save money on magazines at the newsstand...it isn't going to be happening anytime soon unless you are at a deep discounter. Now back to your regular scheduled programming.

Thanks for the information. I don't plan to renew my D23 membership either but I do love the magazine. I will look for it today when I am in town.

I think D23 is fine but I live in North Texas...I never have a chance to make it to any of their events so the only benefit is the magazine and I can buy that 4 times a year for less than the membership.

Hi Stitchlover,

I'm glad the information is helpful. Even though I'm in California, I'm not renewing for the same reason. The only event I could sign up for was the D23 event at the Walt Disney Family Museum and the D23 people didn't show up. So they didn't have any D23 surprises or free gift as they say they always have at their events.

With our NFFC Disneyana Club and Walt Disney Family Museum activities, I am able to get my Disney fix more easily and a lot cheaper than the D23 events. All the club ended up being for me was a way to purchase expensive merchandise, but I know that many others were able to sign up for some terrific activities. I agree that the magazine is first rate and am glad I don't have to drive to another town to purchase it.
