Where's all the information? Where's the best place to look up updates without having to wait until Monday morning for Mouseplanet and MiceAge? On Facebook I saw the blog post for Pixar Pier. I thought there would be a post here, but I didn't see anything. I'm thinking there should be more information about some of these announcements. Anyone know a good place to read updates?

The Parks Blog has been updating their page with new blogs -- https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/latest-stories/

For Disneyland Resort, in a nutshell (from what I recall from watching the presentations online):

--Our Star Wars land (called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both DLR and WDW) is opening before it opens at WDW

--Cars Land is getting a Halloween overlay this year

--Pixar Pier is a permanent new area at DCA next year

--Pixar Fest is a temporary event starting next year

--Paint the Night is returning -- to DCA!

--Pixar Play Parade is moving to Disneyland

--A new "Immersive Superhero Experience" is coming to DCA, but not much else was revealed

Oh, and this was not mentioned at the Expo or on the Blog, but California Adventure is getting lots of new Halloween decorations this year (it's on the DLR website)!

Well. You're on this site so why not try WDWinfo.com and the DIS for starters

Thanks. I never think to read WDWinfo even though I have learned they do have Disneyland information not only WDW.
I had already checked DIS and there were no threads specific to information.

Thank you.

Most of the focus at the Parks presentation today was on WDW and other parks. WDW is getting lots of cool things. DLR was saved for something like the last 20 minutes, and the info was not as big as all of the other news. They didn't even really get into details about what they are doing with the Marvel land/immersive superhero experience, so I would assume that announcement will not be made for a while (unless they reveal it at Comic-Con).

Yeah. That seems to be what I'm finding. WDW gets tons of new stuff and we get a rethemed pier.

There's been some buzz that they may hold back something semi-"big" for Comic-Con.... That could be it.

When is Paint the Night returning? I hope sometime in the next year!

To me, it seems like the Parks Blog is implying that it will not return (to DCA and not to DL) until 2018, and that the Pixar Play Parade will move to Disneyland in 2018 too. However, I could have misinterpreted what they were saying, or they could bring back PTN sooner, but it sounds like DCA in 2018.

I think WDW got more announced because they are 4 years from their 50th and this is when these things would open.

What does pixar pier mean for rides like screaming, goofys and the little mermaid? AND THE FUN WHEEL WONT HAVE MICKEY I AM GOING TO PROTEST I SWEAR

I have been wondering what they plan on changing with this too. It seems to me that they could start Pixar Pier after Cove Bar, keeping Ariel's Grotto, the bar, and The Little Mermaid attraction in tact. These all seem to be fairly popular and it would be easy to keep them while changing everything else.

I think it would be easy to transition King Triton's Carousel to a Finding Nemo-themed carousel. They could keep most of the sea creatures and just add some new ones from Finding Nemo.

Obviously TSMM would stay the same, and perhaps they would theme the area around it to Toy Story.

I would love them to update (or completely redo) Goofy's Sky School. That's one of the few rides we have absolutely no desire to ride.

Ooh, they could change Jumpin' Jellyfish to an Up-themed ride. They could add a little house exterior to the place you sit, and change the top to a bunch of balloons. I'd love to see Up and Wall-E get more love in the parks.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this. It doesn't seem that long since they completely re-themed this area.

I think Little Mermaid ride and restaurant are safe. It's the other pier attractions that will likely be getting an new theme. It's too bad there isn't room to move Triton's carousel.

I've seen people mention Monster's for Screamin' and someone above mentioned Finding Nemo for the carousel, however the announcement specifically said there would be "neighborhoods" themed to Incredibles, Inside Out, and more Toy Story. So that makes it sound like it will just be those three Pixar properties. But I guess time will tell.

It seems sort of silly to me to have half of Paradise Pier to be one land and half be another land. But they didn't ask me. They seem to be into "micro lands" lately.

I can't imagine them changing/removing TheLittleMermaid attraction. Everything else would be fairly easy to change to new overlays. I guess only time will tell.

Maybe they could move the carousel over by the LM ride and Arie's Grotto and make a Little Mermaid land too! ;)

I am one of the few people who is actually OK with the Pixar Pier idea, because I love love love the Toy Story movies, Finding Nemo, etc. (I am not a big fan of the Cars movies, but the land is great so I am fine with more Pixar in DCA.) I have no problem whatsoever with the "whimsical neighborhoods" mentioned in the Parks Blog. I wish we could get a whole Toy Story Land like other parks are getting. (Actually, I would not be shocked if Pixar Pier is a very early indicator of a future plan for Toy Story Land, way down the road.)

But, for some reason, my impression from the concept art and the Parks Blog was not necessarily that the entire land of Paradise Pier would be Pixar-fied, at least not right away, because I definitely think the Little Mermaid ride is safe, the restaurant is safe, World of Color is safe, etc. A lot of things will be safe.

Plus, Pixar Pier is supposed to open in 2018, and that seems rather soon for them to do a massive overhaul. Some things might get name changes or new themes and facades, but I am still wondering if only a very specific section of the entire land is going to change, with different little sub-sections set aside as the "neighborhoods." Now, it could start off kind of small and then grow over the following years, but I am just not getting a sense that this will be a huge endeavor ready by 2018.

I do wonder if Pixar Pier is appearing because one or more of the other Pixar properties (either the Monsters, Inc. ride or A Bug's Land, or both) will disappear when the "immersive superhero experience" breaks ground. Perhaps they will keep Pixar Pier open for a couple of years and see how guests respond to it before either the Bugs or Monsters bid farewell, and then decide whether or not to proceed with a full-fledged Toy Story Land or full-fledged Pixar Land. I definitely think that Pixar Pier will now pave the way for the eventual Toy Story Halloween and Holiday overlays that were talked about when the TSMM ride opened 9 years ago.

This would be awesome! I love Up!

The concept art suggests that they're really only changing the carnival rides and the shops between TSMM and the swings. I'm not sure the other side with Ariels and Goofy Sky School are even considered the pier?
