D23 EXPO THREAD - See you in 2019!

Have a few small things to prepare for on my side. Ordered our chairs on Amazon yesterday and they should be arriving tomorrow, they fold down neatly into a bag that will fit into my backpack so really looking forward to using them. I have a White Rabbit DJ(Mad T Party) costume that i'm still on the fence about taking or not, the last time I went to the Resort with it security gave me a really hard time and almost didn't let me in. I don't want to go through the struggle of setting the ears up again and not being allowed in.

I've been thinking about getting to the Expo at 6am for Friday morning but at this point I might just show up at 5am for the sake of being able to wait in Hall E and not be stuck outside.

Yep, I will be getting there at 5:30ish just because I definitely do not want to wait outdoors in the heat until 9.

I'm actually thinking of getting to the expo a little before 5. I keep hearing everyone say 5, so that scares me a little. Wanna try to stay ahead of the crowd.

This is my first expo. So, to clarify, if you are going to a morning Hall D23 presentation but NOT waiting overnight AND you get there before 6am you can still line up inside Hall E?
That is what they sre saying and what I am planning.

If you get there after 6am is there a separate line for Hall D23 presentations or do you line up in the regular line and book it to Hall E? I understand that past experience is not confirmation for 2017.
Not 100% clear, but from past Expos I would expect you need to enter the Expo through the main entrance with everyone else then once inside the ACC, turn left towards Hall E to get in the queue. Yes, "book it" is what you would do. You do not want to be too far back in that "after 6AM line" or by the time you get into the ACC it will be too late to get into the Hall D23 line. I think they open the main entrance line at 9AM when the Expo starts.

Has anyone here done sorcerers before? No clue what time we should show up on Friday. I know we have a seperate entrance but don't know anything beyond that.

No first hand experience (yet!) but I've heard from various sources that if you don't plan to sprint to the stores, closer to opening is good. I'm hoping to get clarification on Thursday as to how we will enter.

If I can get the stores done on Thursday I don't see myself sprinting to them. I just want an oswald plush.

For those who have attended in the past, do you think I would have enough time to hit the Dream Store Friday morning and be finished in time to have a decent seat for the animation panel? I'm planning on getting in line around 5-5:30 and a Gold Member. My goal would to be in line for Animation before the Legends panel ends.

I'm also a first time attendee and sorcerer. The oswald plush is one of the few items that interest me, so I hope it's available Thursday. Of course, I'll likely buy many things (which I don't need ). I expect to do all my shopping on Thursday, so will miss any items released later during the Expo.

With my experience Disney Store is the only place that sold out of thing. I got to Dream Store late one day for Force for a Change and they still had everything even the pin sets.

If I recall they ran out of some artist prints last time in the Dream Store.
I never did make it into the Disney Store in 2015.... it was just too crazy.

Oh yeah i don't go for prints but I could see small batches selling quickly. We have way too much art especially Disney art so a print really has to call to us these days.

So what snacks is everyone bringing? I have food allergies so I have to bring in more than the usual, and trying to get some different ideas. I usually do individual peanut butters with crackers, trail mix, jerky, protein bars, chips, and of course chocolate.

I don't have allergies, so to speak, but I can't just eat whatever, if that makes sense. I also have to eat every couple of hours and there is no time to run to a food court every 2 hours.

With security added this year I am wondering how it will be to leave the convention center to eat and get back in time for panels/signings. Always bring some form of snacks, so should be good to go until done fo the day @ the Expo.

I'm wondering that too. I enjoyed the food trucks outside, but it seems like it could be a pain to get back in if they do that again.

Can't wait!

The next 3 days are going to go very slowly. I swear it was just last month I was leaving the last Expo saying I couldn't believe it would be two years until the next one. And here we are.

Right? When they announced the dates for this year, it seemed like it would never come!

Very excited! 1st Expo and 1st time visiting DL! Need some advice on when to get to Expo. We have tickets on Friday. Our strategy is to be there between 6-7am, if this fails 10:30 or slightly later. Will these times be ok? We are open to the panels we get to see and spending time on the show floor, limited merchndise is not super important - but I am sure there will be a few items coming home. Safe travels everyone and enjoy the Expo!

If you aren't worried about specific panels or merch, that should be fine.

That's what I'm thinking.

What I am hoping for is to be allowed inside the main entrance to wait shortly after 6am. Last year that was great.... we had windows to look out of, carpet to sit on, bathroom and coffee stand close. I would prefer that over being in the basement on the concrete floor if I got there before 6. Will they allow folks into the lobby shortly after 6? They may not....

It's the unknown that makes this difficult....
