Hotel Kingdom is offering a studio at Cypress Pointe. They said it's not a one bedroom lock off. One queen bed.

Has anyone stayed there? Comments?

Yes I have stayed there, we had a 3 bdrm, so the 1 bdrm is the lockoff part of the 3rd bdrm! It is small. I would say if it is just a couple and you are using it to sleep then it would be ok, but it would be small and cramped. There is a mini fridge, and microwave in the room!

It's not like a normal 1 b/r but it is partitioned off. There is a small area with (fold out) couch and coffee table, kitchenette all with tile floor, then a wall with a window which has the bed and bath area.

As far as I know the only "studio", usually called a 1 bedroom, is at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas (Phase 2) not at Cypress Pointe Resort (Phase 1). While CPR has a separate entrance available to the 3rd bedroom (used by owners to gain a second week of use if they desire), that is never used for deposit as RCI & III will not accept it (no kitchen). Individuals can rent it as a lock off but not RCI, II or any of the large wholesalers like HK.

Phase 2 does offer the (small as mentioned above) "1 bedroom" at CPGV. It is THE #1 source of complaints at that resort as it simply is not what is expected at an Orlando timeshare. Too small, not fully equipped and a nightmare for 4 people to use.

Its definitely listed as Cypress Pointe. HK says it has a small fridge but not a kitchen. One Queen bed. Sounds like it's the 3rd bedroom. A number of small websites rent it for $80-$120 /night. RC won't accept it. I guess that's why it shows up on sites like HK.

Bed comfortable? Unit clean? More likely to hear the group that has the "rest of the unit" then hearing people in the next room of a regular hotel?

Still a mixed message. The CPR lock off does have a small refrigerator and microwave BUT it has a king bed. The CPGV has an apartment sized (not full size) refrigerator and a queen bed (but the kitchen qualifies for RCI/II trade with a cook top but no dish washer). As I mentioned I've never heard of any wholesaler renting the CPR "B" side, but I suppose it could happen. They would have to actually call in and "split" a 3 bedroom unit as an owner would (and pay a fee to do so!) so it really makes no sense that they would go through that to possibly rent what amounts to an upscale hotel room. I'm going to dig deeper into this and if I get more firm information I'll post it.

It also shows up on Kayak. Most sites list it as a studio, some as a hotel room.

My guess is the third BDR at CP used to have a Q bed and HK never updated their information.

Could the consolidator be splitting the unit?

No kids this trip. I may go for it if if I can't find a better deal on PL.

No other update yet but that "B" side at CPR, as it is known, has always had a king sized bed. Never changed. I'm very interested exactly what they are offering and where so I will continue my research. As far as taking it - it's a good price and both are good resorts so if you are OK with the no/partial kitchen then you should be good.

UPDATE: The CPR (Phase 1) lock off or B side IS rented through Hotel Kingdom and a few other wholesalers. It is not accepted as a trade through RCI, II, SFX and other exchange companies.

It is listed as a Studio. Be aware that it is basically an upscale hotel room with a balcony, KING sized bed, small refrigerator & microwave. It does not have a kitchen or even an indoor table & chair(s) - the one it has are on the balcony. They are well maintained but suitable only for two people - no room for even a roll in cot. While the CPGV 1 bedroom unit shows room for 4 it too really is only suitable for 2 plus, maybe, smaller kids. 4 adults are 2 too many there too. In both cases the 2 or 3 bedroom units are much more suited to what most people expect in a condo in Orlando.
