First off, I would like to thank everyone for all of their advice about Cypress Pointe before I booked it. So Thanks.
Now we have 2 weeks until we are there, question now is, what would we need to bring, besides the basics. Do they provide dish soap, and stuff like that, or do I have to buy it. I am assuming I get a starter pack, and then have to buy my own. I will be getting groceries, laundry soap, paper towels soap for the bathroom, and so on. Being we are there for 2 weeks, I will be getting coffee, water, and all that breakfast stuff. Is there anything else I am forgetting?
Also, closest grocery store. I am thinking the Walmart superstore, I don't remember there being a Publix in that area.
Thanks again, 2 weeks, can't wait!

My brother and family stayed there for Thanksgiving week--getting a great rate off Ebay for something like $600 for a 3br. Great location--right next to a Winn-Dixie grocery store and scores of restaurants very close by. Close to the Downtown Disney entrance to WDW

I know exactly where it is, we stayed at Bonnet Creek last year, and actually ate at alot of restaurants close to Cypress Pointe. I am hoping that we will enjoy Cypress Pointe for that reason. Close to things that we can walk. How is Winn Dixie for prices on groceries? If anyone knows I would be happy to hear!

There is a really good winn dixie in the next block, if you go out of the back entrance to the resort and cross the road you will be in the carpark.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I know there is a super walmart not that far, but if there is something closer, I will take that. Especially since we won't get to the resort until 5 pm, and my kids will want to just stay there. I can go quickly if there is one right there!

Cant help ya with your questions but I am also interested in the answer. We will be there in 3 weeks and I also wanted to know what to bring! Hopefully someone comes along with the answers. :) Have a great trip! I am soo excited for ours!!

Barbara

Thanks Barbara, Hope you have a wonderful vacation as well. What exactly are your dates? Cause we are there until the 19th. Just curious! I hope someone comes up with some answers as well!

Our dates are the 21st thru the 28th. So you leave just before we get there. I am soo excited! Prolly more so than the kids. :)Have a Great trip!

Thats to bad we will miss each other!! I am looking forward to it to. This is our 3rd year going to Florida, first time in Jan 08, last year Feb 09, and this year March 10. We did a rental home in Davenport, last year, Bonnet Creek, and this year, Cypress, because we got an awesome price through a timeshare owner, that we couldnt pass up. Probably like most people on these boards, it started out as a "trip to happen once in a lifetime" then you go every year, or every other, because you enjoy it, and realize how cheaply you can do it!
Have a great vacation, and enjoy your time there.

We will be on the Phase II side of CP in March. We have owned on both sides for several years and we are very happy with staying there.

As far as your questions: you will be provided with a small soap for each shower and for each sink, a small Palmolive dish soap (enough for 2 weeks) and one packet for the dishwasher. You also get a small (hotel size) shampoo, conditioner and lotion in each bathroom. There is talk about getting rid of those, but as of November when we were there last, they were still there. A hairdryer is provided too.

I always take my own laundry soap, only enough for one load is provided, and a small container of dishwasher soap. The little tablet thingys are great for travel too.

I've never had a problem with the prices at Winn Dixie. Much more convenient than Wal-Mart. There is also a Walgreens across the street. I do recommend bringing your own toilet paper. I cannot last a week with the cheap sandpaper they have a CP. We have made comments every time about it, but still no upgrade. I've learned to take my own!

Enjoy!

can anyone tell me the best site to book cypress pointe thru?

I need to make a reservation for this summer.

thanks.

When you go to Winn Dixie go to the customer service desk and sign up for a Winn Dixie discount card so you can take advantage of the weekly sale prices (if you had more time before your trip the time-savings method would be to sign up on their website and have the card mailed to you).

The closest Publix is about three miles from Cypress Pointe on Vineland Ave near the Premium Outlets.

The "new" WalMart is about 4 or 5 miles from the resort on Turkey Lake Road - very easy to get to from Cypress Pointe going out the back of the resort onto Lake Street (right turn), a left onto Palm Parkway and continue straight when Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake Road. The slightly older WalMart is a little bit closer (just under 4 miles) down in Kissimmee on SR 535 but it probably takes a little longer to get to that one because of all the traffic lights. There's also a nice Target store with groceries on SR 192 that's 5 miles or so from the resort ( and another, older, Publix that's between the SR 535 WalMart and the Target store).

As far as what to take with you for the resort...
The villas are well stocked and unless there's some specialty item that you want to take I'd suggest that you don't take anything with you. Wait until you get there to see what you might need. For a two week stay the resort's housekeeping staff should come by at the middle of your stay to replenish the basic unit supplies. You're right that they will supply you with all the basics - a starter laundry detergent, dishwasher powder, hand dishwashing liquid, trash bags, coffee filters, paper towels, toilet paper (usually two rolls for each bathroom), facial tissues. And I'm pretty certain that if you ask CP will drop off replacements if you go through those supplies before your week(s) is completed. That's pretty much the standard case for timeshare resorts.

HI,
I just got back from cypress Pointe resort today. we stayed in phase 1 in the 8000 building.

We had all 3 bedrooms so the lockout unit with the mini fridge and microwave had the coffee pack, soap, shampoo and napkins'

the fully applianced kitchen (nice new range, dishwasher etc) had coffee, creamer, dishwasher detergent for 2 washes, a small box of surf detergent for teh washing macine and soap, shampoo and lotion in the bathrooms.

we called room service and had more laundry soap delivered and were charged ,50 at checkout- much cheaper than buying soap and leaving most behind.

there is construction in one of the buildings near the pool- we were close to the phase 2 entrance and going across teh street was easy.

the lady in teh poolside store is super nice and makes frozen margaritas and smoothies to enjoy while lounging by the pool. Teh hottub was HOT and the pool clean and beautiful

Request a 3rd floor unit if you can handle the stairs.

the grills are GREAT to have too, they are near the tennis courts and have nice tabele.

We will stay again, we traded as a timeshare and it was very reasonable

Oh, forgot to say, Winn Dixie is a block away. Get a card to get the best prices. The GYRO's next to the grocery store are the BEST!! MMMMmmmm

There are plenty of places to eat and shop right nearby and the drive to Disney is quick and easy!

DisneyNeophite, thanks so much for your info, Dick you as well. It has been most helpful. Now just hoping for the good weather, and tell me those there margaritas you speak of, do they have rum, vodka or alcohol of any kind in them? Cause I am going to get me one of those while I am sitting at the pool basking, hopefully in the sun, not the clouds!! Come on Florida weather be AWESOME!

I used alpharooms.com for our stay last summer. They had the cheapest rates I found.

You can get either. I got a YUMMY mango and strawberry drink with both rum and tequila. MMMmmmm It is not super heavy on the alcohol, but she will add more if you ask!~ We also drank margaritas with tequila, again, not strong- perfect for sitting in the hot tub
