Cypress Pointe II and Ebay?

I've got a question. I can get two units on ebay for $300 each per week (with a free upgrade to a 2BR on both of them). We have two families traveling together, and this would be an incredible deal.

That's my concern... Is it too good to be true? Their feedback is 100% but a low number (less than 50), and they've been a member for over 2 years. They've rented other properties in other areas and gotten very good feedback. It is NOT a timeshare.

Does anybody have experience with prices this good? I would have to pay through Paypal (which suits me fine, and I think is "supposed" to give me some protection).

Help???

Cypress Pointe II is definitely a timeshare resort, unless there are two resorts with that name. Or, do you mean that this vacation doesn't require a timeshare tour?

There's a variety of ways that a deal like this could be available. One thing to watch out for is if this is actually a timeshare exchange obtained via II or RCI. If that's the case, there's a chance that the exhange company could cancel the reservation, because selling exchanges is not allowed.

When is it that you plan to go to Orlando? That would help me tell whether this is legit or not.

Sorry for the confusion, I actually meant that it wouldn't involve a timeshare tour. We'd be going the middle of December.

the $300 each is probably correct. this might be an owner - they can only own a 3-bedroom (I think) and the maintence fees are around $600 for a 3-bedroom. which can be broken into a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom.

the problem I have is the guaranteed upgrade to a 2-bedroom. I don't think this is right.

but I don't own at Cypress Pointe.

She is an owner, and, as I understand it, the reservation would be made for a 2BR.

I'm really tempted by this, because I had narrowed down my choices to Windsor Hills or Cypress Pointe GV. I like the extra space at WH, but CPGV's location is worth a lot since I'll have young adults who will want to get out and to things on their own.

Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate the help!

I just talked to my credit card company, and they assured me that if I had any problem, I could dispute the charges, so I wouldn't have to worry about losing the money.

Thanks again!

I would ask the person providing the unit for a written confirmation of your reservation. That should help you determine whether this is legit or not. You could also call the resort and verify that the reservation has been made in your name, and that the person who has rented to you is an owner.

On several occasions, I have I have rented out timeshares that I own. I always provide my renter with a written contract, which we both sign. I feel that a contract protects both parties.

She has already provided the written confirmation of the reservation and told me to feel free to contact the resort directly to verify the reservation (which I am planning on doing).

We're really excited about our cost savings. That just means more money for Orlando. We've been lots of times, but DD's BF and the other family (with the exception of their oldest DD who has been with us) have never been. I owe the savings to this board (and the person who told someone to check for Bonnet Creek on ebay! Thanks!).

Thanks again for the help!
