Hi we are just back from Cypress Pointe Grandevillas. It was me, DH, DS7, DD18, DD4, BiL and SiL. We stayed in a 3 bedroom and really enjoyed it. I was apprehensive about staying offsite, but it was very close to WDW. We arrived on Oct 1 and returned yesterday Oct 8.
The room was very clean, I inspect everything upon arrival and everything was in order. We were on the second floor overlooking the turtle pool and hot tub. The room was very spacious and it never felt like we were on top of each other. The weather was hot and sunny some days, with a couple of quick rain showers and mildly overcast and humid others but we made the best of it with our umbrellas and ponchos,we never really noticed the rain. The crowds were light, in our opinion and we went on all of the major attractions at least twice. We actually stayed on splash mountain without getting off !
It was a great trip and if anyone has any questions about Cypress pointe, feel free.

glad you have fun!!!

I will be staying there next Dec - but only a one bedroom.

We are staying in a 3 bedroom at the Grandvillas in Nov and was wondering...

Did you go out to eat much off site? If so, can you tell where and your experiences? Where did you buy your groceries and what did you think? Are all the Grandvilla Buildings about the same or do you recommmend one over another? Was there a DVD player? About how many dishes/cups were there? We are getting a 3 bedroom unit plus a 1 bed unit and all 10 of us want to eat together using only the 3 bed unit supplies, is this possible?

What did you think of the temp of the pool and hot tub?

Thanks,
Jenn

We mostly ate breakfast and snacks in our room. We had scheduled several meals in Disney but there were seven of us and they didn't coincide with our schedule. We ate at Biergarten in Germany, snacked one night at the Food and Wine Festival and ate at Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Package. We really didn't care for Hollywood and Vine. Other nights we got pizza, Steak and Shake, Chili's and IHOP. Food was not the highlight of our trip. I do prefer staying on site for the dining choices.
We purchased about $200 worth of groceries for seven people. That includes beer, wine, cereal, bread, milk, fruit, juices, water, snacks, pop tarts and waffles, laundry detergent, etc. It was very convenient to go to Win Dixie which was right next door and you can get a club card on the spot to save money. It was very convenient.
There is a pizza, wing, deli/convenience store on property, there food is good if you are desperate! The fried foods seemed to be their forte!
There were plenty of dishes service for 8 in the 2 bedroom portion of the lockout and probably service for 4 in the 1 bedroom portion.
I think the 3 bedroom unit and an additional 1 bedroom should be enough room for 10 people. We had 7 in our room.
There were only vhs players, one in the main living room and i think one in the lock off. There was no tv in the childrens bedroom.
The pool was comfortable and the hot tub too, they were both heated, but I would have liked the hot tub hotter and it did break once while we were there. There were 3 bedrooms and 3 pools.
Our location was overlooking the turtle pool on the 2nd floor unit 26B. I thought it was a great location. My 7 year old could walk to the store and I could see him from our screened porch.
Any other questions let me know....

Thanks for the info. We are very excited about our trip although were hoping it would have a DVD player although we can work around that : ) Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions.

Salty taste, hmmmm....

Jenn

Do you have any photos of your room you can post? I am really contemplating going this route our next trip.

The lockoff is the one bedroom part of the 3 bedroom.
I dont have any pictures to post, but on tripadvisor, there are very good pictures by a person who stayed there!

I found this "owner" website with floor plans & photos. I'm interested in knowing if they really look this nice. I can't believe how HUGE they are.

and this comparison chart from Cypress Pointe Resort comparing Phase 1 & Phase 2. (includes square footage of rooms among other things.)

Cypress Pointe and the Grande Villas are beautiful and have wonderful staff working for them! :sunny:

My family have been owners there for the past 12 years and we've been many many times and each and every time I go through the door I feel like I'm "home".

The villas are lovely and very spacious. :)

I agree it was a very big room and with a washer & dryer (yes I always do laundry on vacation), a jacuzzi tub, a huge master bed room and a screened in porch I was sold! And let me just tell you I was not at all excited about staying off site!

BelleNBeastie..........so glad you had a great time. You just can't beat the space for the price offsite. We're excited ourselves to be staying here in a two bedroom in Dec. Can't wait!! :sunny: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi I am looking into staying at Cypress Pointe in Dec. and was hoping you could help me out. Are there additional fees after you paid the rental fee for the week, such as local taxes or cleaning fees? My flight arrives at 8AM, are they strict in enforcing a 4pm check-in. Thanks. ::MickeyMo

Fortunately for us, my sister is an owner at Cypress Pointe and we stayed for free. She uses some kind of point system and from what she tells me, she only used around 2800 points (whatever that means) for our stay. So actually, we only paid around 2.00 for the phone calls we made.
we did not use maid service, I understand that you can, but there is a fee. The room was large and we are the wake up and make your bed type of people so it wasnt bad at all. when you arrive, the towels are all rolled and everything is tidy. I washed towels throughout the week and one day i rolled them and flipped them around like they were when we got there. My husband came running out to tell me we had maid service that day... I think I am gonna learn to make towel animals next.
It really wasn't bad not having the maid service.

:flower: It sounds like a great place and you had a great time. How often is there maid service? People have reported that CP is noisy, did you have any problems with noise? You said it's near a grocery store, I like being able to save money by buying basic groceries like water and snacks. Thanks for the info!
