Cypress Point Grande Villas

We arrived last night here, for our 3rd stay. Wow, the upgrades are awesome. They have done a nice overhaul of most buildings. I can tell the difference from last year, everything is clean and well maintained. Glad we decided to switch back here. Anyone thinking of coming here or returning. Don't hesitate.

The newly named Grande Villas Resort has a great location for visiting Orlando's three major theme parks as well as everything else that the area has to offer. We've enjoyed our stays at Grande Villas and the adjacent Cypress Pointe Resort.

Can you be more expansive on what upgrades they've made at Grande Villas? Is your villa refurbished? Is interior work ongoing?

We have enjoyed our stays here as well. Last year we had a room that was well, lacking, really needing an overhaul, so we almost didn't come back!! I am glad to say we decided to give it another try!
All the furnishings, appliances, carpet, countertops, showers, cabinets, have all been redone! The only thing that I can see so far that hasn't changes ( in our unit) is the washer/dryer but otherwise everything else is done! As far as the grounds go, not that there was anything wrong before, they seem even more clean, and kept on top of! So far very happy with our decision! Very busy here as well, said they were sold out. We checked in late, and there was person after person checking in! Any other questions please ask! We are here for 2 weeks!

Thanks! Sounds like they're making some good progress. Are those big ole televisions (I hadn't seen one of those anywhere else for years until we stayed there in (?) 2008) still in the living rooms or have they replaced those with the more modern flat screens?

Thanks! Sounds like they're making some good progress. Are those big ole televisions (I hadn't seen one of those anywhere else for years until we stayed there in (?) 2008) still in the living rooms or have they replaced those with the more modern flat screens?

LOL that's funny, one of our big complaints as well...the TV's yes they are new flat screen tvs!!! But man is it busy at the resort right now, can't find a parking spot at the end of the night, but it is bike week in Daytona! Apparently that is a factor!

Good news on the TVs. That must add a few square feet of usable space in the living room, lol.

Not so great news on the parking issue. So many of the Orlando resorts meet the parking space/villa requirement by building spaces that aren't particularly convenient. For instance, we've had problems finding parking spaces that were convenient to the buildings we've stayed in on two of our Marriott Grande Vista visits - and that resort is huge - and at the SeaWorld Hilton Grande Vacation Club resort. It's not much fun to have to park far from your building and then have to trudge on over at the end of a day after lots of theme park walking.

We are in building E on the grand villas, as they are seperate now from the Resort side, but you can still use all amenities at both resorts. I know buidling D isn't done yet! THAT PRICE IS AMAZING!!! You were asked twice but didn't address the questions - where did you get such an amazing deal? I'd stay just about anywhere in Orlando for that price, but a 2bdrm condo? Forget about it! Plus, if the price is that low, I might be able to squeeze our trip in a year earlier. Do tell!

Hi there, thanks, we are having a wonderful trip!!! So many people here from Ontario right now. We went to the Leafs game in Tampa last night, and there was more Ontario plates coming out of there I think!
As far as buildings go, I took a little walk about an hour ago. From what I can tell, the only buildings that are not refurbbed is D and part of C. The rest seem to have been done!
I also want to add, this is our 3rd year here, and everything is improved from before. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and courteous. Being that we are staying for 2 weeks, they came today and cleaned our room now that we are at the mid week point, Also, the activities have been greatly improved. My girls played junk food bingo, the ice cream social, and dive in movie tonight (Happy Feet 2) I really think there has been a change, and all for the good! The only thing I would change at this point is the laundry, they are loud and old!

The weather has been stunning! It got up to 91 degrees, and it is supposed to be nice all week. We leave Friday, but have had a great vacation so far! We are in building E and it is lovely. The only thing that does suck, is the nice big whale pool seems to get taken over by people that snowbird here, and I have seen some nasty faces from older people when our kids get playing. Which I think is wrong, that the kids can't play. Mine tend to be very well mannered and apologize if the do splash someone but this is overkill! So we do go over to the turtle pool or volcano pool during the day!
Really any of the building on the Villas side are so close to the pool it doesn't really matter! It is a smallish resort so it is very easy to get around! Ask for an upgraded room facing the pool and you should be fine. I requested building B, because I knew it was done, and got building E, so I would go for upgrade and pool facing!
Hope you have just as great a trip as we have!

Yes they do!! I heard one guy say that they had another 6 weeks here yet! Unbelievable. If they are still here when people come, they almost make a line accross the pool, not saying that kids can't go in, but they act like they own the pool!
We have been coming here now for 3 years, and we now recognize the same group of people every year! THey are harmless, I just choose for my kids to have some fun, so go to the kid friendlier turtle pool or volcano during the day! THe whale pool is the warmest and is super at night, and usually empty!
