As always, thanks Flaky.

I am on vacay next the next week so I need to roll a bunch of bucks this week. See what I can do...I'll post my list later in the week if I come up with something.

Hmm. I was going to do the P&G deal this week because we are getting low on TP and paper towels, but I don't really need the Alvin movie. I guess I will wait until Sunday and do the P&G deal this week. Its a better deal for me.

I am almost embarrassed to admit, that I've all but stopped shopping at CVS because of that stupid little card. I don't understand how it works, so I never feel like I'm getting a good deal. I have a card. I just don't "get" what the extra credit bonus (is that ECB?) is. How do you spend it?

Boy have you been missing out ;)

The Extra Care Bucks (ECB) is what is printing on the bottom of your receipt. Certain products every week are on sale with ECB bucks, meaning if you purchase the right product, you get the ECB. Once you have an ECB you can turn around and use it JUST LIKE CASH!!!! Really. There are a few restrictions (prescriptions, tobacco, giftcards) but other than those you can turn around and use that little baby for anything.

What most of us here do, and how you can really make out well, is to only buy products that are free after ECB or free after ECB and coupons. After your first trip, you are never using cash to pay...you are using the ECB's that you earned last week to pay for this weeks trip. Then you take the ECB's you earn this week and pay for next weeks trip. That way you are "rolling" your bucks forward every week before they expire. My goal is to never spend more than $1 a transaction and that is mainly for sales tax.

For instance, this week, you could do this:

Transaction 1:
2.99 Colgate
0.99 Stride Gum
-1.00 Colgate coupon
2.98 OOP (out of pocket cost) and earn $2.99 in ECB ($2 for Colgate, .99 for Stride)

Turn around and then do Transaction 2:
3.49 Skintimate shave gel
-2.99 ECB earned in transaction 1
.50 OOP and earn $3 ECB

So in this simple example, you spent a total of 3.48 cash and came home with toothpaste, gum and shave gel. PLUS you still have $3 in ECB to use next week. So in reality, the whole trip cost you 50 cents :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to me.

How often do these ecbs expire? Weekly?

They expire one month from the date of issue, so you have several weeks to use them.

Does anyone know if the Rite Aid brand allergy med deal includes the childrens liquids?

Starting this week you have another reason to post
FREE or ALMOST FREE STUFF

Starting with this weeks post...

I will keep track of the posts. On Wed. I will count the posts. The person who has posted the most "Tips" will win a envelope filled with coupons. Most that are for CVS for Free or almost free things. There will be at least one coupon for something free.. could be a bag of chips, a coke a box of tampons or even toothpaste:laughing: I will also add coupons for items for the next weeks deals. Just a little thank you for making this thread rock.

So, on Wed (April 14 this week) I will send someone a pm asking for mailing info in order to send out the coupons in time to use for the next week.:yay:
