Cvs weekly 11/1-11/8

They had buttons w/ their name tags that said "ask me how to earn double extra bucks"
They gave me a coupon and on the front it says:
Earn twice as many extra bucks on all your in-store purchases when you present this certificate Nov 1 - Dec 15th, 2009 (non pharmacy only, does not apply to circular extra bucks, see certifical for details and exclusions)
"Extra bucks will be added to each of your receipt totals. They'll be available for you to redeem on your first visit in January."
The coupon has has a bar code on it, but the cashier said once you use it and it is linked to your card, it will automatically add it on....but the coupon says to present it at the register.

Thank you for explaining! :thumbsup2 Wow, I want one of those coupons! I don't remember seeing a cashier with a button like that on so maybe it's a regional promotion. LanaJae will know! LanaJae, do we have this going on in MN? :confused3

I can't find last week's CVS thread but did anyone else get one of those "Green Bag Tags"??

I saw them tucked on a corner stand behind the pop machine and grabbed noe but haven't used it yet.

I got one today...they had a table next to the scanner and had them spread out all over it like fall leaves.

Double your extra bucks promotion? :woohoo: How did I miss that? What's it all about?

Went to two stores yesterday and neither had on the buttons. Asked one and she didn't know anything about it. :confused3 Sounds so awesome though! Anyone know if its regional, or just some of our stores are slow on the uptake? :lmao:

I got mine last week and used it this week. $1 ECB every four times you have the tag scanned. Its a pretty good deal for people like me who always bring their own bags.

Thanks flaky!!

The double your extra bucks is for the quarterly 2% (out of pocket) back, its not for regular extra bucks - they do this twice a year and I'm sure we'll all get something in our stores to be scanned - it will only have to be scanned once by the end of the quarter. Sorry to say it's not as exciting as it sounds unless you spend hundreds out of pocket there on things other than prescriptions. Sometimes they also double the $1 you earn for every 2 prescriptions so that can add up if that is included this time.

About the best deal on Glade would be $10, less 2 coupons at $2.50 (buy refill get holder free and buy 2 refills get one free) = $5, get $3 extra buck. So $2 for a holder and 3 refill packs. Look for bonus refill packs with one extra candle.

There are some $3 coupons inside older Glade products for $3 off a scented oil candle starter kit, but the new blue-packaged ones don't have a candle inside so they cost less to begin with. The coupons would still work though because almost all Glade is coded the same.

Shucks, I was hoping there wouldn't be a catch. Oh well....

Good to see you back here, LanaJae. How are you feeling? Hope it's getting better with each passing day.

I was handed a holiday catalog at CVS this a.m. It has a handful of ECB offers inside (things like Axe gift sets) and a $4 off $20 coupon in the center. I'm hopeful that that coupon will come in handy for Thanksgiving sales.

I've done the Glade deal twice and will probably do it again. My grocery store had bunches of the BOGOF coupons, so I've used a few of those. I think I'm going to the Sunday paper one for the last deal even though it's more out of pocket b/c I already have as many of the holders as a really want. They're a really good deal when I'm spending mostly CVS money!

I need some Rite action, though. I just got $50 for transferring my much-traveled prescriptions there!

I just ran in at lunch because I had $30 in ECB expiring tomorrow. Couldn't get out yesterday due to work.

I did the Nova Max and a bag tag on my one card. First I have seen them anywhere. I am assuming that I will need one tag for each card? Or can I use the same tag but the 4 visits will accumulate separately on each card?

On my other card I did the Glade, Nova Max, Gilette razors and dental picks. I had a hard time coming up with enough to spend my $20 ECB on that card  I had a planned on doing the cold medicine deal, but they didn't have any of the items I had coupons for. I still ended burning some bucks, but not too bad.

FYI, the Gilette disposables coupon in the Sunday paper for $3 off was for the larger packs. However, it scanned right through with no beeps for the smaller packs on sale this week with ECB, so not a bad deal for razors! I also got a catalog and $4/$20 coupon when I checked out :thumbsup2

Not sure if I missed it somewhere here, but the Nova Max is more than Limit 1. I'll probably do the deal again to roll some more bucks forward...

Sorry to bring the bad news - when they first started that, everyone thought it was on any extra bucks and it was a huge disappointment.

I'm still having trouble, but when I look back a week at a time, I know I am improving, it was 5 weeks ago today, I don't know where the last 5 weeks have gone! I guess its good for me that the sales have been terrible lately. I have almost gotten rid of all my stockpiles now, giving stuff away like crazy - that cheers me up.

I went today and got the Ice Age deal, the Softsoap pump/refill and the Colgate total. Not much else to get.

Halloween was 30% off most stuff and 50% off "pink dot items".

I had a great trip to CVS yesterday so I thought I'd share.:goodvibes DH and I were walking around and around the store trying to figure out how to spend lots of ecb's that were about to expire. With no great deals we thought we would focus on stocking items and holiday extras, and believe it or not it was taking us a long time and many trips around the store.:rotfl2: One of my favorite cashiers was at the front and when she got a break she came running over with two flu coupon books and asked if anyone had given us any. We said no and she said, please take these - they are supposed to be for flu shots but we don't do them here and they sent us lots of these books.:) Then when I finally got to the register she scanned my card and said would you like a free holiday book? I of course said yes and there is a $4.00 ecb in there - but according to her they are only offered to certain people when their card is scanned. Those two little things just made my day!:goodvibes

I found the holiday book with the spend 20 get 4 ECB where they usually keep the sales flyers. There was only one. I am hoping to find one more for my DH's card.

I went and did the medicine deal and the plackers flossers. Only cost me around a dollar out of pocket and I was able to roll some ECBs.
