CVS threads?

I'd like to start back into CVSing, now that the kids are backk and I have a little more time

But I can't find a current thread, or even one recently. Is it just me and the search engine or haven't there been any lately?

I was at my local CVS(s) this week and all of their summer stuff is 75% off. I'm wondering if the stuff will go 90% off this Sunday. The last holiday the employee told me they no longer go to 90% off, so I didn't go back until 2 days later and everything was gone, which makes me wonder if they were wrong.

I haven't seen a thread in awhile either.

I know personally I have cut way way back on my couponing and CVSing/Rite Aiding. The deals have been horrible and the whole "exteme couponing" craze has really made it difficult for us old timers. I still go out, but definitely not as much. I am currently down to about $5 ECB's on each card

Yeah Maggie and Flakypuff had to give up on the threads. the deals were so bad, noone was posting (me included!). It's a shame. I only figured CVS out because of the threads on here. It'sahappyday was posting them when I started. Then Lanajae was very active.... Ahhhh the good ole days! I usually just read what's going on on weusecoupons.com

Yeah Thanksgiving has to be good! We are all counting on it! That was how I got my sis into CVS. Someone on Hotcouponworld typed out a way to do Black Friday with only $2 OOP I think 3 or 4 years ago. I printed it out, organinzed coupons and wa visiting my sis. I made her go with me and she saw how it worked first hand! So Fun! She surpassed me a while ago in deal hunting. Seems like I end up visiting her on Thanksgiving and we end up doing CVS and WAgs together. This year I'm supposed to meet her in Fl and I'm not sure if I can go. She told me the thing she was looking forward to the most was doing that together!!!

Although next week looks decent. 2 or 3 free things. I always like that!

CVS had free chocolate this week! That is always worth a stop. There were actually two candy bars. The Hershey's bar in the ad and the coupon machine was printing out a coupon for a free Milky Way or Dove bar. Physicians Formula make up was buy $10 get $7 ECB. Had a $1 off coupon. The organic mascara that my daughter likes is $9.99 so I got it for a hair under $2 after coupon and ECB. I learned about the rounding up of the 99 cents on one of the threads here. They were very helpful.

If you are only a penny short of the required amount for the deal, you will still get the ECB. I only paid $9.99 for the mascara, but the deal was buy $10 and get $7 ECB. So at $9.99 I got my $7. And after the $1 coupon is included, that means I got her favorite mascara for $1.99. Not a bad deal.

And the $9.99 counts toward my next $5 Beauty Club ECB. I think I should get that one next week!

Last week's Sunday paper had a BOGOF on the chocolate, so you can get two bars instead of one if you have that coupon.

I got burned a bit on the Milky Way as my store was charging more than the coupon was for. Hard to complain since I had the other two free ones, though.

This week did have a good deal on ear phones. They were 6.99 and you got 5.00 ECB limit 2. I agree that the deal are pretty bad lately. I have been CVSing for about 3 years and not I am seeing tons of people with their binders wandering (usually aimlessly) around the store. I haven't been able to do much stocking up since the whole extreme couponers. Although I cracked up at Walgreens when this woman was hogging the whole cleaning supply aisle stocking up on the buy 30.00 get 10.00. She was prett rude to everyone around. She wasn't aware that she couldn't use the 10.00 for her first P&G transaction onto her second and still get a RR. She was yelling at the poor cashier. She ended up walking out without the second RR.

I am going to miss the gas cards too. I think I got four of them. A few weeks Cheerios Multi Grain cereal was part of the deal and with coupons it was cheap. My husband eats a large bowl every morning So he is stocked up on cheap cereal and I had extra gas money!

I make the rounds of CVS, RIte Aid and Walgreen's every Sunday morning. It is just part of my shopping routine. But I only do one card at CVS and Rite Aid and I don't do that much Walgreen's.

This week at CVS there will be tampons that you can make $1 on - limit one. And free toothpaste somehwere - I haven't made my list yet. My food pantry just put out an urgent request for hygiene and cleaning items, along with food. So I am thinning out my closet on Sunday afternoon to bring them some stuff on Monday. That is part of why I keep couponing - it makes me feel good to be able to donate a pile of stuff and spend very little money on it.

I came back just today and was looking for the cvs thread honestly, I didn't think anyone cared about it anymore the deals were not that good and everyone stopped posting idea so it kept getting pushed to page 6 . I will be. Happy to start it up if you guys come and check in it is late in the week so I will start with the next week. I am so glad you are back!!! It is because of you I learned how to use CVS to my advantage and now have a small stock pile I can be proud of. Because of you and others that go out of their way to help, I have saved my family thousands (not to mention the many items that I have been able to donate).Thank you Thank you Thank you
