Cuttlebug question???

I have a question about the Cuttlebug....I don't have one...I want one. I have one on back order at ACM. But, with the recent post that it may be discontinued, what if it doesn't come in? I got embossing folders already in anticipation of getting the machine. They have not had it in at my ACM since early November. Is there another machine you can use the embossing folders with? Thanks to anyone that can help!! I really want to be able to use the folders and have seem the machines on ebay and amazon. I know I can order them. But, if the one would come in at ACM, I will get it for only $40. I am having trouble justifying paying $80 - $100 for it from those sites. So, if there is another machine that I can use for other things also, maybe that would be ok.

There are a number of other machines you can use the cuttlebug stuff in- I am not sure of the names of them off the top of my head but if you google embossing machines you should find some compatability charts.

I had a rain check from Michaels for the Cuttlebug and they called last week to tell me that the line has been discontinued by Provo Craft. I have all these folders I got from Big Lots when they had them on clearance. Now what do I do? I don't want to pay the incredible prices that ebay is asking. Who has a Big Kick? Do you love it?

Are they discontinuing the whole cuttlebug line, or just the orinigal machine? I find it hard to believe that they would discontinue everything when they just released a bigger version of the Cuttlebug not long ago.

Do you mean the big red super heavy dinosaur clunker that I have in a box in my room since I got my Cricut?? If so, I am all set!! What would I have to do? Instead of cranking it through, just press down and then feed through a bit more and press down again?

Yep- that should work- google compatabilities as I suggested below- I have seen a chart that tells you exactly what you need to shim it through to work well- I think the chart might be on split coast scrappers but I am really not sure!

I did google it and am now looking also into the Sizzix texture something or other. LOL I keep forgetting the name of it...but it looks like a cute little blue and black purse. I may go that route...not sure yet?? I do have some ACM gift cards and my rewards for January...so I could really get it with a coupon and still have enough from my BAN WAGON budget left to get a new cart!!!! It's probably what I will do?? Even though I sooooooo want to get all three of the new carts that I want!! I feel that I need both new Disney carts and the Life's a Party one. Maybe I better go find myself a sponsor over on the ban wagon thread??!!!!!!!

Yes, the old red dinosaur works with the embossing folders and thin cut dies.

The little black and blue purse uses SIZZIX ones, I don't know about Cuttlebug ones. I, ah, can test it when I get home from work today though.

But, I don't think it works with the dies, if I'm remembering correctly.

Q: Can I die-cut with the Texture Boutique Machine?
A: This machine only embosses Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and similar products from competitors. The Texture Boutique Machine does not die-cut.

Thanks Jennifer!! I only have embossing folders so that would be fine. I am pretty excited though that I can now emboss with the old one too!!!! You guys are the best help I can find!!!

LOL No I don't Jennifer....but my husband thanks you!!! Because now I'm sure I will have to get them. I have really stuck only to my Cricut. It is because of the swap boards that I have had an interest in them!! I call it getting great information...my husband calls it bad-influences!!!

I have the older version that is white and red. They have the new black/blue version, which works just fine too. You can use a 40% off (or 50% or 60%) coupon on it at Michaels or Joann's.
