Okay, so we've modified our trip a couple of times....once to add my MIL and once to cut the ticket days down. Now I'm considering cutting out 3 nights to save some, we already had two 'free' days where we had nothing planned....so we figured why not make those days park days.

My question is...I think I read somewhere on here that if you call to cut days off (or it may have been to add days) that they will have to check the hotel for availability before changing your ressie. That they can no longer just reduce your stay, but there has to be availability at the hotel you're staying at for the new reduced time for them to change it?

Is that true? Will there be a problem with me changing my ressie? And for those of you that have done this, roughly how much do you save per night....I know it depends on how many adults/children are in the room, but just an overall estimate will help me decide if it's worth it.

Thanks!!!

Okay...got a rough estimate on the savings by taking our package price and dividing it by our nights....maybe that's a pretty decent way of estimating it. Still, how hard is it to cut the days from your already booked/paid package?

As long as you're outside your 45 day window - looks like you're closer to 50 days - then it's not a problem. Dropping days is not something they need to check on rooms for - that'd only be for adding days to see if they still had open rooms and at what rate.

Once you get to 45 or less days from checkin, there's a penalty for changes that result in a downgrade of your total package price.

Thanks, I called and it was really quick and painless :) Well, not completely painless since I'm not going to be at Disney for 9 days...but I'll take 6, better than none :)

Thanks again!

So how accurate where you with dividing the days to figure out the discount?:surfweb:

I was within a few dollars actually with my estimation. We only have 1 day base tickets on the package right now, so I took the beginning balance and divided it by how many nights we were staying before....when she gave me the new balance it was pretty much what I'd expected :)
