Day 7
We awoke at 9am as the previous residents had the alarm clock set. I showered and enjoyed my breakfast from room service and then I went down to the gift shop whilst Cuthbert showered. I returned 20 minutes later with a lovely Mickey suitcase on wheels and packed the pillows into it, they were very comfortable and with what I paid for a room for a few hours I assumed they must be included. Cuthbert emerged from the bathroom and asked where the children were. I told him I assumed they were still at the Popular Century so he telephoned our cupboard there and spoke with a housekeeper. The children werent in the room so he called Dixies cellular telephone and Amos answered. They were at the pool and perfectly safe and happy. He told them to stay there and we would be with them soon. Amos said not to rush so we went to the mini golf before getting a taxi back to the Popular Century. We were the best dressed persons on the golf course and I won by 45 points. We got a taxi from the golf course and quickly retrieved the children from the pool and returned to the cupboard.
Cuthbert was feeling guilty about the time the children had spent on their own so he asked them where they would like to go. They wanted to go to Typhoon Lagoon so being the dutiful parents we went straight there in a taxi. It was very busy when we arrived and there werent many beds and we had to share two between four of us. Getting the two was a problem but we had managed to find two under an umbrella with what appeared to be discarded towels on them. We just moved them onto the foot path. I was exhausted from the golf and my headache and Cuthbert was hung over from last night so we had a little lie down and a little sleep. The children woke us at 6.50pm to tell us the park was closing in 10 minutes. They had had a wonderful time and excitedly told us all about the wave pool and the new slides Crush the Gusher where you can sit three to a doughnut. Quickly we ran there and were the last family to be given a raft. We got a doughnut for three and had a head count. There were four of us so we left Amos at the bottom with the camera and we went up the steps. Cuthbert had to carry me as I had a sore foot from the running. What a wonderful slide, it was so much fun, just a shame that the hired help wouldnt let us slide all the slides. Cuthbert carried me back to retrieve our belongings and we got a taxi back to the Popular century.
Our plan had been to go to Seaworld but we figured 8pm was too late to go so we had a family vote (another idea from that blasted Super Nanny). Dixie voted for Magical Kingdom. Amos voted for the Space Centre. Cuthbert voted for the bar and I voted for shopping. To my horror Cuthbert suggested going to the bus station and boarding whatever bus came first. By the time we reached the bus station I had realised that Cuthbert and I hadnt eaten since breakfast so we got a taxi to Planet Hollywood and waited 53 minutes for a table. It was well worth the wait and we were fortunate enough to get a seat next to Gloria Estevan and her Florida sound machines. We all had appetizers, entrée and dessert washed down with cokes and cocktails. The check was a very reasonable $364.
When we exited the restaurant Cuthbert suggested going to Pleasure Ireland. We had planned on going here tomorrow but it seemed silly to bypass it when we were already here. Had another stupid vote and in we went. The hired help asked my good self for ID. They never asked Cuthbert, he must be looking his age. The children didnt require ID as they are too young to drink. I told them there could be unsavoury characters here and to stay close. Amos asked what film the unsavoury characters were from. I told him LIFE. We found the children to be a hindrance this evening as we couldnt get them into all of the clubs and Amos was becoming tired and irritable. I told him to cheer up, quit whinging and we would purchase him anything he wanted in the Once Upon a Time shop. I enjoyed numerous cocktails and Cuthbert enjoyed anything liquid and a few dances and then we went to the Market to the Once there was a storybook shop to get Amos his promised gift. He had stopped whinging, he fell asleep on a bench, so it was only fair to keep our promise. On the way he asked if he could have a monorail set. I told him he was my precious sweetie pie and if that is what he wanted then that is what he would get. When we reached the shop I fainted, the hired help had to help us to the cash register with our monorail, our magic kingdom, our poly watsit, our contemporary train station and our spaceship earth and tree of big roots. There was no way we could carry these huge boxes so we had to have them delivered to the Popular place. Dixie threw a strop because she didnt get anything so we let her have a turn on the Carousel of horses and we made Amos watch from the side to make things even.
Cuthbert said we would have to get a bus back to the Popular place as we had no money left for a taxi so grudgingly we swayed to the bus station. I was feeling rather dizzy and I fell down with laughter when a drunken Cuthbert fell over on the ground where water shoots out it. It was so funny. The children walked away. Amos managed to secure himself a seat at the bus station at the shelter next to our stop. We had to endure a 20 minute wait for the bus and then I had to put my old rugby training skills to good use to secure a seat on the bus when it eventually arrived. When the bus started moving I realised we had lost Cuthbert so I told Dixie I would get off at the next stop and go back and find him. He shouldnt be out on his own, he gets confused. I told her to stay on the bus and take Amos back to the room and I would be there as soon as I could. I had to rugby tackle my way off the bus at the Pleasure Ireland stop and hike all the way back to the Market. I didnt find Cuthbert, he must have got on the next bus but I did find Amos asleep on the bench.
After throwing Amos over my shoulder we boarded the first bus that came. Unfortunately it went to Coronado Summer but the driver was kind enough to take us to the Popular place when he realised we were on the wrong bus. How kind I thought. When we returned to the cupboard I found Dixie and Cuthbert tucked up in their beds fast asleep. I turned the lights on and woke Cuthbert up and gave him hell for leaving Amos. Then I went to sleep.
