Day 3
Woke up by a Stitch at 4.30am shouting through the telephone. Apparently Dixie had set a wake up call for us. I told her to go and wait for the breakfast room opening and to fetch breakfast for us. She returned at 6.30am. I felt much better having had another 2 hours sleep. When we switched the light on Cuthbert crawled out from under the bed mumbling something about an earthquake, I dont know what he was talking about. He was covered in bruises and complaining of a sore head. I told him it must have been when he fell off the bus, he said he felt like something had been pounding his head, like a hammer.
We all enjoyed our multi coloured toast. Arent the Americans very clever. I mean where does one buy multi coloured flour to make multi coloured bread?
Once we were all ready Dixie checked her little schedule and said she and Amos had decided we would go to Animal Kingdom. We got to the bus station and boarded the bus for Epcot as Cuthbert and I wanted to go here first and it was our, I mean his, birthday present.
The bus journey was horrendous. There were lots of persons standing and some of them were holding onto my seat, talk about invading my space. A lady even stood on my toes, I was disgusted and told Cuthbert I was not happy. He smiled and reminded me that Dixie had organised all this and to play happy. I gritted my teeth.
When we arrived at Epcot I got to the turnstiles only to have a man want to prod his stick inside my bag. I told him it was a Guicci bag and I would not allow a stick in it. He had the nerve to ask me to move the contents around. His face was a picture when I pulled out the super glue and stapler. He must be a new security man and unaware of my families needs. Once this drama was over we got inside and Cuthbert kicked off because I wanted to rent a stroller. He was adamant that the children were old enough to walk, it wasnt the children I had in mind.
We stopped to take a photograph of the golf ball, Cuthbert likes this as he is a keen golfer. Next we rushed over to the Space Centre for the Mission to the moon. There were lots of warnings about vomiting and I did worry about Cuthbert but he really wanted to ride as he always dreamt of being a spaceman before he became a top secret person. Once we were inside the space shuttle our voyage to the moon began with a Great force. The children whooped and hollered with delight. Unfortunately I didnt manage to complete my job as I was having a look for Neil Armstrong. Cuthbert was so excited when we got off the ride, he was like a child in a supermarket. He went straight back on with Amos whilst Dixie and I went to collect fast passes for Test Tracker. Cuthbert Lightyear and Amos arrived at the Test Tracker ride just as I finished my coffee and muffin and we went into the faster queue. We all rode together and enjoyed this ride too. The photograph was very funny, Cuthbert had has hands on his head, bless, to hold his hair on!!! When we came off this ride we went to the building with the new ride.
It was very busy in here and I have to say I was not impressed. We headed downstairs for Soaring over America. The commoners line was huge and the faster passes were for much later in the day. I wanted to ride now so we agreed to ride ourselves. We entered the single persons queue only to have a hired helper shout us back. I told him we were doing single person ride and he said it was not operational. I pointed out to him that the sign should be covered then as I had been misled and was now confused and very upset. After 45 minutes of discussion and backing from the crowd who had gathered we were taken to the front of the queue and seated in rows 1, 2 and the children in 3. (single riders dont ride together). I was very happy. The Soaring ride was very good, Cuthbert liked this as he always wanted to be a bird. He did however have a nose bleed when he was hit in the face with the golf ball as we flew over Gleneagles. When we exited the Soaring ride Cuthbert insisted we use a faster pass to go on the farming ride. This was boring, myself and the children fell asleep and Cuthbert was sick into his satchel, he was never good on boats. Went into the cinema next to see the Lion King film, it was a new one which we hadnt seen before. Dixie said she has been learning about saving the environment at school, they have an ECO flag you know, a green one, anyway she suggested we recycle at home so I agreed to let her take Cuthberts bottles to the bottle plant. Anything to keep the little ones happy.
Amos wanted to see the sea lions next so we went to the Sea Life building stopping on the way in to take photographs of Nemo and his friends. We just walked straight up to the wall, the persons standing close appeared to get very annoyed. We didnt stop to watch the film as Cuthbert is scared of Jaws so we went straight to the under water lifts. When we got under the sea we saw a big line waiting to see Crushy from the Little Mermaid so we went in too. The hired help invited the children and myself to sit at the front. This is an endearing experience. Crushy asked me where I got my beautiful bag from and I offered to buy him one. Dixie asked him how he worked, honestly I pay for her education, I think I need a refund!
When we left here we saw some hired help riding on a scooter without back wheels. I enquired as to where I bought one of these contraptions and was told tours were available. We went to Guest Relatives and were lucky to get a cancellation space for Cuthbert and myself for later in our holiday vacation. The children were too young so they will have to do something else while we scooter.
They started to complain of hunger pains whilst I was booking our scooter so when we left Guest Relatives we went for lunch in Chinatown. After eating we watched some little children spinning around plates and things and twisting their bodies into some very unnatural shapes. They were very talented, why can my children not do things like this?
From China we went to Canada to watch their tourist video. Cuthbert couldnt cope with the spinning floor so he lay down before he fell down and closed his eyes tightly blocking out all light. The film was interesting but I have no desire to visit, looks too cold.
From Canada we went to Sweden and rode the scary boat ride. Amos was hysterical on this when the big troll chased us and the polar bear roared as we sped past. Cuthbert cried as he doesnt like fast drops. The little village at the end of the boat ride was good, we had a lovely drink in the open air café and then walked through the film, no time to stop, we have been to Sweden before though I dont recall seeing trolls and polar bears. When we got back out into the sunshine the children wanted to play on the wooden boat thing. We agreed they could and told them to meet us in Japan in an hour.
Cuthbert and I headed to the UK to purchase a Mars Bar and a Bounty. We also had a little drink in the Queen Vic. Cuthbert had his usual whisky and I had a bottle of wine. When we finally reached Japan we found a message on Cuthberts cellular phone saying the children had gone to the future. HURRAY!!! We took advantage of their absence and went to the Boardwalk for a look around. Cuthbert likes seaside towns and we enjoyed a drink down by the pier. We were both very tired after our drink and all the walking we had done and decided to go back to the hotel (I use this word loosely) for a sleep. We were fortunate enough to get a taxi straight away. I told the driver we were visiting my gardener as I didnt want him to think we had chosen to stay here. Put my sunglasses back on when we returned and went back to the garish building and our tiny tiny tiny room. The housekeeper had made a little welcome back display in our window, how common!!! I dismantled it straight away and went to bed. Cuthbert woke me at 10pm with an Indian takeaway he had sent out for. He can be so kind. The children arrived back as we were eating. They had had a wonderful time, they played in the future until it closed, had some dinner and then watched Illuminating fireworks and managed to get on the correct bus back home. I was very proud of them. They wanted to go for a swim so I sent them down and told them to come back when they were cold.
Cuthbert went to the poolside bar at the Happy Dappy pool and returned when it closed, I went to sleep. The children arrived home an hour after Cuthbert and put themselves to bed.
