Day 1
We travelled to Gatwick the previous evening so as I could rest my head whilst Cuthbert did something called try light check in. It is for persons travelling with little luggage. I travel with lots of luggage so we just purchased numerous little suitcases. Cuthbert and the children toddled across to the airport from the Hilton (we were staying in the executive suite). Cuthbert called me on my cellular telephone to inform me that I had to be present for the try light check in. I told him I would be there as soon as possible. I couldnt get a taxi so I got our car from the long term car park and drove to the North Terminal and then got the monotrain to the South Terminal. I wouldnt recommend this as it is full of people with luggage!!!
Cuthbert was very angry when I finally arrived. Apparently he was fed up waiting, well its not my fault the traffic was so bad! We were quickly checked in as we were travelling in the Upper Class suite. The check in person said we looked like a very suitable family for Upper Class, not like the lottery winner type person who checked in before us. Cuthbert wanted to have dinner at the airport but I told him I had already ordered room service. Amos threw a HUGE tantrum because he wanted a McDonalds. Cuthbert gave Dixie some money and told her to take Amos for his happy day meal and meet us back at the Hilton. Cuthbert walked back himself and I got on the monotrain and went back to North Terminal to retrieve the car and took it back to long term parking. The North car park cost me a small fortune, Cuthbert said he could have bought a bottle of whisky with the money.
The children arrived back about 10pm. I wasnt worried about them as Dixie had her cellular telephone and she called to say they were playing on the escalators and the monotrain. I was busy liquidising Cuthberts sedative for the plane ride tomorrow. He cant swallow capsules. Cuthbert, bless, is a very nervous person and doesnt travel well. I had read on here that persons give their children something called Fernangin. Harrods hadnt heard of it so I made some myself, but I had to liquidise the fern. Cuthbert was worried my liquidiser might blow up, he wasnt sure if the electricity and the gin were compatible, turned out fine. I made enough for the return journey so we dont have to take the liquidiser with us. Smelt rather strong so we put it in the miniature bar so we could sleep without getting a headache.
I was sound asleep by 10.01pm. Cuthbert reported that the children were asleep by 11pm and he fell asleep when he finished his whisky (approximately 1.5 litres). Night night dear buddies. See you soon.
