cute little postcards & loop 1500 or 2000???

two questions

1) we only need partial hookups (van) and so will evidently be at 1500 or 2000. any one have any opinions about which is better or worse?

2) we are going to add a day to our reservation for Jan 6-13, now 14. last time we stayed there around the same time midway through the week we got a cute little postcard on our windshield "inviting " us to stay another night for 1/2 price. couldn't stay then but am considering on taking a gamble and not changing the reservation till I see what is up once we are there. even if we had to change sites it wouldn't be a problem(a :turn key, b: drive van out c) drive van in) the 14 is a Weds. has anyone else gotten one of these cards before or are they a once in a century thing. If so I may as well change the ressie. which is the reason for #1 as I may request loop1500 since it looks closer to about everything but I know looks can be deceiving!

Any thoughts?

I have never seen one of the cards you are talking about. The 1500 loop is closer to the action than the 2000. I don't think I would chance them not having the availability. Was your last trip in late 2001 or early 2002 when things were still very slow?

longer , like around 98 I think(not one to write that down) and I have heard things are busier now than then since I think it was us with 2 other groups in the whole loop! don't know if it is that empty still in Jan.

I have to go with the 1500 loop. I have stayed there 3 times and love it. It is close to the pool, the Meadows Trading Post, the campfire and the bus stop. Not too far from the front gate or the outpost.

thanks, i think we might have stayed in that loop once, either that or 1300. 2000 seems a little to far removed, good usually with me for camping but not when i want to get someplace.
