I'm a teacher, on my feet all day long, and I need cute winter shoes that I can wear with dresses and tights. What do you wear to work that's budget friendly and super comfortable on feet and back and knees?

I suggest crocs. There are quite a few dress shoes on the croc website, and they all have the cushioning for your feet, which in turn helps your back and knees. Many are leather too. I know some styles of crocs are designed for the beach and casual, but they have really expanded their line, and are sooo comfortable.

Leather clogs with wooden heels from Hannah Anderson. You can order on their site. The wood molds right to your foot giving great support. I like to wear black tights with black clogs. They are adorable, and I always get lots of compliments.

I hear ya!! Dansko is the brand of shoes that I love:love:it's like walking on pillows all day...and stylish too! I have the high heel style and clog style and absolutely love them:cheer2::cheer2:I echo the poster about tights. get them in whatever color your shoe is and it's a great winter look.

Not all budget friendly up front, but in the long run, I have had some of these shoes for YEARS, they last forever. More important, they are very comfy! I hated buying crap shoes from Payless that barely last a season. By spending twice or three times as much up front, the longevity of these has paid off in the long run. Good luck!

http://www.zappos.com/clarks-sugar-dust-black-leather - LOVE THESE! Easy to dress up or down, work with skirts and jeans.

http://www.zappos.com/ariat-boots#!/ariat-boots-women/wAEB4gIBGA.zso?t=ariat+boots - every girl should have a pair of great cowboy boots!

http://www.zappos.com/dansko-clogs - the original chef's shoes. I took a pair all over Europe, and they are still kickin!

And my summer go to, had for 15 years, been to numerous festivals - http://www.zappos.com/dr-martens-women/UgExwAEB4gICGAo.zso I could not find my sandals, but I love those things. They last forever!

I'm a teacher too :)

I wear Born brand shoes all the time. So comfortable, last a long time, cute styles. They are not cheap, but you'll save your feet and back and they'll last a long time. I gave up on cheap flats a long time ago and never regret spending the $.

Do you have a DSW nearby? Sometimes they make it to the clearance racks, but even if not you earn rewards points toward $ for more shoes if that helps :thumbsup2

I think the suggestion to go for expensive shoes that last and are classic is a good one.

As for how to get those shoes cheap, shop sale racks at higher end stores (if you have a Nordstrom Rack around you, make it a regular stop). I make a habit of looking through shoe sale racks as much as I can - it will take a while to find good Born's, Dansko, Clark's, etc. and you can't be too picky regarding style when finding your first pair (once you have a pair or two, then you are just continuing to look for "cuter."

Also, find a good shoe store and try on a bunch. You may discover that Born is your brand, but you can't wear Dansko - that isn't unusual. You may discover that in a Doc Martin you are a 7 1/2 instead of your usual 8. Armed with that information, you can watch internet sales - but if you don't know, you spend a lot of time returning shoes to Zappos.

For something a little dressier, I like Sofft.
