Customizing MBs?

I booked our trip for June 2014 today. Yay! Anyway, I booked it through AAA. The guy told me I could go on today and customize our MBs. But when I go on MDE there is nothing there, it asks me to link my MBs, which, I don't have them yet so I can't do that! Am I missing something? This guy also told me I could make dining reservations TODAY. I told him I thought I had to wait until 180 days out and he said the Disney people told him I could do it today, which I know is not right. So I don't have a lot of faith in this guy but our reservations were recognized on MDE so I know he did that part right! So anyway, how do I customize the MBs?

You can't make reservations until 180 days, and you won't be able to do MBs until about 60 days. Your TA doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable.

Uh, your AAA TA needs to brush up on his WDW basics. ADR's are 180 days still, unless you are staying on site, which would give you 180 + 10. People going in late Jan/Feb don't seem to be able to get MB's yet, so you are a good ways off since it does not seem to go live until about 60 days out.

Keep checking back on MDE when you are about 90-60 days out.

Theyve sent emails, but they've been coming about a month after you can actually customize your bands. And I received a snail mail notice that I could now customize my bands......on the same day that I received my bands via UPS. So disney it's a little behind with that.

I think he meant pick what color for the bands. Can you do that? I thought he meant I could do that online, then they send them to me and then I can do the FP+ etc... 60 days out.

Im going jan 19th and I haven't seen anything in MDE about customizing my magic bands yet - ive been hearing mixed things about when you can pick colors bc of the whole testing phase.... im hoping soon!

When you customize them, you will pick color and assign names, online. You can also do the fast passes at that same time. You don't have to wait for MBs to be sent to you to do the FPP.

Thanks for your response. But I can't customize them until 60 or so days out, is that right? It's frustrating because there is no answer to this at all on MDE.

It seems to be that 60 days is the magic number. But as time goes on and they implement this more and more, it may be extended to 90. Just keep checking MDE periodically to see if you can customize.
