Customer Service: OOP vs DP??

Recently when talking with a CM she almost sold me on the Passholder Dining package. I will be eating a TS everyday of my trip and it would be a savings for me.

The question I have is how do you find customer service between being an OOP vs DP?? I don't want to deal with DP issues along with long waits if I can circumvent that by paying OOP.

Sometimes I feel my time and experience is worth more than a few bucks?? So I need some opinions and advice...have you seen a difference between customers that are OOP vs Dining Planners???

We were on the DP for the first time this past August. We really did not notice any difference in service between this time and when we always pay out of pocket. The only thing we could see that was odd was the extra time it took when we also combined our DDE card for side items we purchased. The waiter/waitress had to get an approval from the manager before applying the discount and that had not happened before.

Also I think there is too much paperwork to sign. Remember to pay attention to your credits listed on each receipt.

We had the same happen with the DDE card for us on our Sept trip. They also asked for ID even though our key card name matched the DDE name. Just to let you know in places where the DDE was not taken like Yak and Yeti and Japan, we were NOT allowed to use the AP for our extras during the lunch times that you are supposed to get the 10% off. WE didn't question it any further but I thought that was odd. I am just thinking that I should email WDW and see if they were supposed to.

Is there a list of restaurants out there that do not take the Dining Plan so I can have that information with me?? I made my ADRs before I switched to the Dinining Plan.

We have paid oop, we have done the dining plan and also used the DDE card. We have had no difference in service levels. Not even a few years ago when the tip was included in the dining plan.

Thank you all for your kind advice!!! I'm going with the plan as it will save me some money and I'm hoping for as little hassle as possible!!

We paid some with the ddp and some oop and there was absolutely no difference. I know though when we were buying food with the ddp and then some oop (because dd2 wasn't old enough to be on ddp), they would uusually give us the oop items for free to avoid the hassle of having to ring up our stuff twice. Worked out well for us.... :thumbsup2
