Custom Calendar-Disney Pix?

Has anyone made up a custom calendar with their disney pictures?

I saw an ad in the Walgreens Pharmacy that they would do this, and I assume Staples and/or Kinkos would as well.

If so, what was the quality and was it terribly expensive?

I make up a calender every year for my DH with pictures of our dogger.

I've found that Kinkos really does the best job. (Staples isn't the best quality and I've never done it at Walgreens)

Sometimes you can find "2 for $35" coupons in the sunday paper, I've never paid more then $50 for 2 calendars.

You can even do this online if you have a bunch of digital pictures, my coworker did this, submitted it through their website and picked it up around the corner from the office.

I generally get mine done at the end of november/first week of december - just because they get REAL BUSY at the end of the month.

Only 1 rule - no copywrited images. I HAVE used though a picture of DH and I taken in front of the Castle at MK on our honeymoon with Mickey mouse in front of us...and they had no problem with that.

I will look into the website and my local Kinkos. I figured they would do a better job than Walgreens.

Was there different choices of calendar layouts/colors, etc....?

I will get my pix cropped and ready ASAP to beat the rush.

not entirely sure what you mean by that.

the "calendar" portion is all back/white
the cover of mine is red (with a pictures of my dog framed in the center)
I think I saw online that you could 'tile' or 'layer' multiple pictures

the ONLY thing I don't like about these calendars...they don't punch holes in the bottom of the pages (makes it easier to hang in an office cube! hehe) I asked one year and they did it for me, they did it on their own the next, and I forgot to ask the following year.

I guess I meant, the calendar boxes themselves. Are they customizable as well? Like narrow, long, lined, really big, or really small, stuff like that. I am going to start working on this tonight. I'll see what happens. I think I'm getting a little crazy with all the questions! I just don't want it to be cheesy.

I've ordered prints from them in the past and seen a few of their photo books--they look great!

I make a custom calendar every year using the Calendar Creator software by Broderbund. This software is very flexible. You can enter birthdays, anniversaries, vacations, etc. into the date blocks and can repeat them every year. You can make the calendars portrait, landscape, one or two pages, all kinds of options.

I print the calendars on either card stock or matte finish photo paper. I do own a binder, but it is inexpensive to have them bound at Staples or any stationer.

Also, if you provide calendars to both sides of the family, you can include/exclude individual events so MIL on one side doesn't get the birthdays of SIL on the other. All this with data entry only once! I highly recommend it!

Thanks Linda. I would only be concerned with the quality of my printed photos. I like the ones that I have done before, but it seems like a photo shop would do a much nicer jobthan I would

I actually upload a TON of pictures to snapfish...and their prices are 18.99 per calendar. maybe i'll go with them this year...try it out.
