Custom cake for a b'day at DL?

We arrive Sunday and it's my trio's b'day while we are there. Who did you call for the b'day cake? Did you do it thru the in-room celebration or at a TS restaurant? How was it? Do you have pics?

We did a bday cake at Goofy's kitchen. Disney Dining took care of the arrangements.

It was very good. I don't have a pic unfortunately. I didn't do any character figurines or anything since DS was only turning one and really didnt care. It did say "Happy 1st Birthday Nolan" on it.

I called Disney dining to see if they would deliver to hotels across the street..they said no..but they will have your cake delivered to a Disney resort restaurant. If you are staying at Park Vue, you may want to consider ordering a birthday cake from Coldstone Creamery right there on property.

I bought a cake thru DDining a few years ago. I wish I would have gotten pics. But it was a really cute cake.I ordered chocolate with white chocolate filling. I had a sugar MIckey mouse placed on top! It was really tasty and looked just like I wanted it to look, they customize it for you.

I have done two custom cakes in the past with the most recent being for my mom this past March. I will tell you the prices have gone up and the decorating is a lot more limited!! They don't have the figurines like they used to and basically you just get a cake with flowers on it like you would at a bakery. I was NOT that impressed and it was pretty expensive. Like 56 bucks. They only deliver to the hotels or restaurants and it is nice but as I said it is not like it used to be for any of you who may have done it in the past.

I got a cake for my daughter in the past and was able to get an ariel theme with a tink sugar figure but they don't do ANY of that anymore. It is VERY limited.

Got this cake for my kiddos. It was $54 and delivered to Goofy's kitchen. It was chocolate mouse, and YUMMY!

We ordered two custom cakes in the past year. You need to keep in mind that there is some very basic customized cakes available that the Disney dining folks can help you with, but if you ask to speak with the bakery you can get a much more customized cake for basically the same price. You can pick the size, type, frosting, design, etc. They have a minimum size that can be customized, but it really isn't that expensive unless you add on a lot figures or sugar printing.

The cakes can only be delivered to the resort (hotel) restaurants so you will have to leave the park.
