DH and I had been dreaming of owning a RV but those were dreams for the far off distant future. Last year we rented a cabin at the fort during Christmas and fell in love with all of FW. Our favorite activity was doing the loops in the golf cart. DH would drool over all the various RVs. He pestered me and tried to sell me on the top reasons we should buy now. " See if we had a RV you could be decorating it like all these people do". "If we owned a Rv we could bring our dog" etc.
Flash forward to March and we are attending multiple RV shows in the freezing Chicago land area. We finally found the motor home for us. Bad news, it was in Boston which meant a long road trip home without driving anything longer than a mini van. We survived that road trip and have many more under our belt but are still serious newbies. Staying at the fort and seeing everyone having so much fun camping was the motivation we needed to make our dream happen sooner rather than waiting for that "some" day that may never come.
I scored a reservation to be at the Fort during Christmas so I'm prepping for that long road trip and all the new experiences we will have. I don't even care if I set foot in any of the parks I just want to put up my Christmas lights and enjoy seeing festive things at FW
So if you see a Tiffin Allegro with Illinois plates having trouble getting into our spot, please try not to laugh too loud at our rookie driving skills.
How do I find out what site I have or do they assign when you arrive?
