Okay, that thread title was a little dramatic, but I had my trip for May all planned out and the just-announced Disney channel stars event in Epcot has addled that. Epcot is my favorite park, and I'm afraid that it'll be overrun by Disney Channel superfans.

We have already bought the "Magic" ticket with water park, so have one day in each theme park and that's it, and it can't be upgraded to a hopper. Currently, here our schedule:

Friday (arriving midday): Typhoon Lagoon
Saturday: EP
Sunday: MK
Monday: AK
Tuesday: HS

The Disney channel event is scheduled for Sat-Sun, which means I can move Epcot to my arrival day on Friday, but then I'd only get a half day at my favorite park. It seems like given all the new rides I should leave HS at the end to maximize FP opportunity. For AK, I really love Pandora, but not much else, and I'm wondering if there was not much hope of getting FP at 60+3 for FOP anyway such that I won't really be losing out if I move it to Saturday. What would you do?

I’d switch Epcot with your AK day and RD AAk if you’re worried about it. Epcot absorbs crowds better then the other parks though so maybe it won’t be so bad? Epcot on a Saturday is gonna be pretty crowded anyway even without the stars there

You might consider moving your Studios day to Sunday. It will have two hours of EMH at night, which may help to get to all the rides you want to do.

There are Disney Channel Stars and Disney Channel Super-fans?

Dang I feel old.

While I don't know the exact nature of the event you speak of, I can't imagine it would drastically influence crowds any more than a normal Saturday during festival season.
It is apparently something they've done at DL but this is the first time it is coming to WDW, which makes me extra nervous. I just don't want to spend the day weaving through flocks of semi-supervised tweens who just have to meet the stars of Zombie 2 :crazy2:

Wow 3 weekends in May? Bummer. I’ll be there one of those weekends, though I haven’t made any plans other than a place to stay.

Given the size of Epcot I don't know that it will have much impact other than longer ride lines. But I know my Zombies Superfan 7 year old is BEGGING me for a trip in May now. But I suspect it will be a bit more locals as May is the end of school and most parents will want to wait for summer for trips instead of pulling kids out of school to see some Disney Channel stars.

Most of the schools in the south are off before Memorial Day though—which is why we are going then.
