Entitled? No. But it doesn't hurt to ask nicely. I don't get why people think one is acting on an entitlement when one asks for a minor compensation because of a situation. Asking nicely, accepting a no answer, that's all.

This. Asking politely for some compensation isn't acting entitled. In this example, it's saying a business hasn't upheld their part of the transaction and you would like something for the inconvenience caused. Asking for one or two FP for missing EMH is very different to demanding a refund of your entire resort stay. Disney use EMH and their transportation as selling points for people to stay on site. If their transportation has caused people to miss out on a perk, I see no issue with someone asking for some compensation. If you miss morning EMH, you have most likely missed out on at least 3-4 rides.

I'd love to know what world people live in that perfectly maintained vehicles never break down. I don't care how well you maintain a vehicle - it is a machine and can break down with absolutely no forewarning.

Yes, but again: guests pay for this service. They make detailed plans, encouraged and fostered by Disney itself, that assume this service does not fail. In a case such as this, it is reasonable for affected guests to request minor compensation—assuming Disney doesn’t offer it to them first.

If you got stuck on broke down ride for over an hour and it caused you to miss a much coveted fast pass - would you try and see if Disney could replace your fast pass?

Because it's the same thing. Disney transportation broke down, causing people to practically miss the entire EMH, which for some is the same as fast passes.

No one said Disney has to offer or anyone should expect anything, but doesn't hurt to ask in that situation.

If offered, would I take it? Sure.

But I'm not going to go asking for it because things happen and I understand that.

See above. Things happen that are beyond anyone's control. That is life.

It must be nice to live in a perfect world where everything always goes as planned.

Thanks for the obvious lesson. Here’s the one you’re missing: they paid for something that they did not get.

Lose the snark, please.

It was EMM? Because EMH is not paid for - and that's what I thought I read they were going to.

Oh stop - no one is saying people should expect things every time something doesn't go their way.

If you can't see the difference, no point of discussion. We will agree to disagree. :)

It's a perk of staying at a Disney Resort, that you pay to stay at...

But it's not EXTRA payment like EMM. There is a difference.

But as you said, we can agree to disagree.

There is no difference, they are paying for resort transportation as part of their resort stay.

We were surprised, too. But like I said it happened on two separate trips, more than once each trip. So it does happen lol.
I agree with you, it seems it is random and up to the cast member, we once got to the park very early to activate our Annual passes and there was some mix up with the magic bands and it took longer than expected, we where cool and just patiently wait for Disney to do what it needed to be done and to our surprise we got UNLIMITED fastpasses on our bands, no MDE needed, they where there and we pretty much just scanned on any ride whe wanted for the whole day at EPCOT ( the park we where on) Frozen was the only ride we couldn’t use it, I was in so much disbelief that we double check with another cast member and indeed we got it. Disney do have ways to compensate their guests and it seems they do it especially when a guest is not entitled and is polite even when things are not going well.

And transportation can break down.

If it was EMM where they paid extra, that is one thing. Included in a resort stay such as EMH is another IMHO.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

The OP replied a few pages back to Report she did stop by GR and she was given extra FPs.

As with any concern while at Disney, it never hurts to stop by GR or the Front Desk of a Resort to share your concern. In most instances, Anytime FPs are offered before anything can be politely requested by the Guest.

Closing because the OP’s issue was resolved.
