i have never heard freeway noise in bld 1 that we stayed in, we want kids suiet im gona ask for the one fearthest away from the freeway but it shouldnt be a problem for us

I think you are being unfair. Everyone who knows me here knows I am a Disneyland Resort Hotel person, but we have stayed at Hojos. Compared to some of the other off property hotels in the area, you would be LUCKY to stay at Hojos. There is a reason why it is rated highly on TripAdvisor.com and here on the Disboards--and it has to do with the fact that you get value for your money. One person came her annoyed with her 59.00 (!) room, and complained about it. It is her right to complain, but not everyone feels this way. I knew I didn't want to to stay in the room near the freeway, so I paid 79.00 (amazing entertainment rate), and got a Disney facing room. It was perfectly fine--great bed, view of the Matterhorn. I thought I was lucky to get it. I actually think those rooms are worth more. The other hotel I stayed at on Harbor wasn't nearly as good.

And I didn't see the manager as coming here and "making excuses"--there are so few hotel (motel) managers that would come to a message board to personally answer a customer complaint. This is actually very unusual and some good, personal customer service! If you are a regular on this board, you know that many people here have stayed at Hojos and give it very good marks, so letting one person's bad review influence your perception just is not that well thought out.

Let us know how you like your hotel. Which one did you decide to stay in?

For me I think it is worth it to stay on property if at all possible--but not everyone agrees with that.

I agree with this!

Kathy, I am so glad you got a better room. We were there in January for five nights and I had requested a second floor in Bldg 6, facing the courtyard and it was wonderful. But omg, sometimes when you walk around that resort, you do realize how much on the freeway you are! I can't imagine being in one of those freeway facing rooms. I am so glad they came through and got you changed.

The Hojo has a loyal following which is deserved but if ever a place personified "location, location, location" this is it! The building you get can make or break things, however as Lisa says, paying a bit more for a room that is guaranteed to not be in one of those locations solves that dilemma. I am not a bit surprised this one got to so many pages, Hojo threads almost always do! I got flamed once for saying the bedspread was ugly. And I love the place!

I also enjoy BWPPI but to me you get a pool the size of the average living room and a parking lot feel. The Hojo feels as close as possible to being onsite for us since it has incredible employees, pools and grounds. But you do trade off with a longer walk and possible freeway noise issues.

Thanks Lisa. We are having a GREAT time. The crowds are much lighter than we expected and the weather has been beautiful though a touch chilly. My daughter and I left my husband at home for a special girl's trip and he has reported that it has been hailing and snowing. Yikes. Now that our room is super, our trip couldn't be better. :)

Thats wonderful you are having a great time! I wish I was there with you!! It is good it isn't as cold there. I looked up the weather in Anaheim and it is much warmer there than here.

Update us with a trip report when you get back.
Happy trails!
Lisa

...and it's the most miserable stay I've ever had at any hotel, ever.

We are in building 3, and our room is shaking constantly from I-5 traffic. Also, we are the closest room to the stairway, so we have idiots stomping up the stairs and screaming as they run down the hall to their own room.

I called the front desk but apparently the manager is too busy to talk to me and they're booked solid.

HoJo...I hope you're still reading these boards. This is unacceptable.

think it REALLY honestly depends on the person...we stayed highway side once, no issue. noise does not in anyway bother us, or my kiddo. neither do people outside the room as its a part of stayin in a hotel, especially where there are children. some people cant deal with noise, some can. our house is right on a highway at home, not a very busy one, but none the less. all depends what your used to i think. hope you enjoy disney and get a better room for your needs.

We decided to take a break from the park and just checked into our new room. We are in building 4 now and it's 9,000% better.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone and thank you HoJo and Jonathan for accommodating us. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2:cool1:

Do you Twitter? The 2 times in the last month that my sister has had an issue with a company, and she has posted on Twitter about it, she got a response from them within 20 minutes! Try it!

That totally sucks about your stay though...

Or posting a bad review on Tripadvisor gets the situation cleared up right away!
