Current Price / Incentive for SSR?

Last week I talked to a DVC CM and she told me that SSR just completely sold that week. Could this be true????? I know, I know, only believe 1/2 of what they say, but she seemed pretty knowledgeable to me. :confused3

Can someone confirm this? Just curious......

Or is it only at SSR that you get the 2006 points??
You get the 2006 points if the purchase occurs during the 2006 USE year- the 2206 points is not really part of a special deal, that is how they sell points. So if your use year is July - Dec. you will get those points- then you will get your 2007 points on the 1st day of your UY month.

you must purchase a minnimum of 100 points for doublue developer points. You can switch out current reservation points for developer points if it is within 7 mos from when you add on. If your UY is July or later you do recieve current UY points (2006) but only at SSR. If you add on at AKV, deal is the same except no 2006 points since they started with 2007. I hope I explained it clearly enough.:)

Are these incentives only for current owners?

I may purchase during our trip this August. (AKV or SSR) I'm assuming I'd have to pay $104 and none of the incentives would apply to my purchase. Is that correct?

If you bought 160 points you would get

320 extra pointa to use in 7 months , (they would work with you in changing points already used in the next 7 months to bank them)

Also, you would get 160-2006 points no/maintenence
and you would get 160-2007 points + maintenence

That is a total of 640pts, plus many years to come.

Also Sara has lower maintenence fees ( maybe this is because you do not have to pay to feed animals)

wow is right! man, I wish I could buy SSR now!

ok, just for curiosities sake... if I was a new DVC buyer and I wanted to get SSR as my home resort.. I have to buy at the minimum 160 points right?

and let's say I did buy 160 points... pretending that I had really good credit and I financed the purchase for let's say... four or five years... can anyone give me any idea of how much I'd be paying per month? :confused3

haha. I know that's a lot to ask.. I'm terrible with math :teacher: ... and I don't expect anyone will actually do the figures for me... just wanted to throw that out there.

I like to think of buying into DVC as about the same price as buying a new car... since I currently don't own a car.. but my DF (soon to be husband) is going to give me his car after he pays it off  .. I figure I could get DVC on my own if I had to (if he wasn't willing to go in on it with me).

I can totally see how DVC can become addictive! Totalling the numbers, adding on packages, wanting to share and trade! it's like a game where everyone wins with Disney Vacations! woowoo!

I just spoke with a DVC salesman - the double developer points ARE available for new members for a limited time. The catch is you have to use them within 7 months - so if you purchased today, they would have to be used by January 2008. Remember you would be giving up the $$ incentive, so the 320 points would cost you $1,600 at SSR ($10/point) or $1,280 at AKV ($8/point).

If you purchase at SSR, you get a February use year. So:

160 2007 points
320 double developer points
160 2008 points available in Feb 2008
640 total points

If you purchase at AKV, you get a September use year. So:

160 2007 points available in September
320 double developer points
160 2008 points available in Sept 2008
640 total points

Pretty good incentive!!

If you financed through Disney, 160 points at SSR for a 10 year loan is $182.37 per month. The annual dues would be 54.97 per month.

Hi,

I just purchased points (new purchaser) at AKV. The contract use year was April 2007. My closing will probably take place in a few days. I did not receive the double developer points as it was not offered back when I initially agreed to purchase at AKV. Can someone please let me know how long the double developer points have been offered and do you think it is too late to request the same incentive at this point of my transaction? Thank you for all replys - much appreciated!

Can you choose between the $10 incentive and the double developer points?

I am annyoed now!! I just added on about a month ago my guide said you had better do it now... etc..

So we did.. We did not the deal with the developer points etc. He made it sound like the discount with the points was the best deal that there were no more deals on the way...

He also said SSR is only 85% sold out..

I have not closed yet wondering if I can get the developer points???

We did just buy into AKV and chose the developer points. I want to clarify that my guide did not mention the points at all, he just mentioned the $10/point incentive for SSR and $8/point for AKV. I told him that I read "somewhere" (here) about the double developer points and he said, "oh yeah, we do have those, but you have to use them within 7 months and if you're not planning a trip soon they won't do you any good". Well, we were planning on a trip in September so I chose the points!! I don't know if they've been told not to mention them unless asked, or if that was just my guide. THANK YOU DISBOARDS!!:goodvibes

You do have to give up the $$ incentive for the double points. I basically gave up $1,280 ($8 point * 160), and we are staying 5 nights in a BWV 1BR preferred view, then going on a 3 day Wonder cruise with our 320 points!! I think I got a great deal!

This upsets me that I was not told about this....

Any idea how long this promotion is good for? We are looking at resales, but this is a heck of a deal.

Also, does Disney charge closing costs? About how much, if they are?

Looking at the min of 160 points.

I also assume there is no problem renting the 320 bonus points? Disney doesn't put restrictions on them besides the 7 month window right?

Dennis

Our settlement charges were $235 at SSR. we bought 2 contracts of 160 points each but there was only 1 settlement charge.

wow, thanks for doing the figures for me.. 182.37 + 54.97 = 237.34 is totally do-able for me... it's the TEN years thing that scares me!

I suppose a person could make extra payments when they could afford it and get it paid off quicker though. thanks again! I really appreciate it!

Luna99, You can finance for 5 years at 289.16 per month plus the membership fee. Tehse are the Disney plan numbers at 10.75%. You can do much better elsewhere but the Disney finance is very easy & quick.

Our closing costs for 160 points at AKL will be approx. $328 per my guide. He said the promotion is "for a limited time", so who knows? I didn't ask about renting, he said the only restriction was the 7 month window.
