Current policy for carrying on pins????

We are leaving tomorrow from DFW to head to the World - woo hoo I have two very heavy pin bags which aren't cooperating with any of my suitcases.... what are the chances of me carrying those stinkers on?????

About a year ago we had pretty good luck with our pins in our carry-on bags, and I haven't heard or seen anyone say or post anything otherwise. Be prepared to have the TSA screeners search your carry-ons, though.

We flew USAir in September. I packed 2 small containers containing traders in my backpack. I don't think I will do it again! The screener emptied the entire backback, and looked at every single item. He opened the container with the pins and took every single one out. He even took apart a small flashlight! This was at Harrisburg, PA.
