Current PIN Codes

I also have been wondering how you receive these Pin Codes.... I read anything I could find to figure out how you are sent these infamous codes with no luck! Over the last 20-30 yrs, I have ordered NUMEROUS planning VHS tapes and DVD's dreaming about the day that we could go. We finally got to go last year for the first time..... But we've never even seen one of the mysterious codes!

no one seems to know...
before I booked our October 2013 trip for my family and sis's; I got PINs/UOC all the time. Clicked through them all the time to show I was interested. A week after I booked the trip I see tons of posts here about people getting PINs for Fall FD. so after I don't see an e-mail I call and ask. No PIN for me, so I ask about my sister; she had an FD PIN; but never got an e-mail. She did have a Disneystore.com account but nothing else, no MDE account. Her DH got the same PIN in the mail twice that summer and he has no Disney accounts at all.

Since I booked that trip in May 2013 I have never received a PIN but my sister gets then all the time. We travel together so it doesn't matter as I can use her PIN to book rooms for us both. She has never even logged into MDE; I manage her family's FP+ and all.

We *finally* received a PIN today via snail mail (didn't think they even came that way for Canadians)... A couple weeks after we closed on our DVC resale... & in my m-i-l's name... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Well played Disney. Well played::yes::.

I've called twice to see if I might have a PIN code attached to my information, but nothing yet. Does anyone think I should call and see if there is one attached to either DH or DD's information? I never even thought about asking for them as I'm always the one who makes the reservations.

We had a pin code once that was in my sons name, at that time he was 11! We had to do 2 rooms and somehow he was listed as the adult once too...it's crazy! I hope to get some kind of a code-if its for a room-great, I will pay for our dining. If it's for FD, I then look and see what code is better-but really my DH likes to not worry about paying for food on our trips-glad I am the one that plans and books our trips:)

I started getting them after signing up for the vacation planning dvd but stating how I wanted to stay "off-site" then bam, codes! However, it's never for the week I want! :p

What a great idea! Wish I had thought of that!

I've always requested the vacation planning DVD whether we're planning a trip or not, but I hadn't requested one yet this year. I read your post a few days ago and it reminded me to order one. I did what you did -- said we were planning to stay off-site. Guess what came in the mail today!!! The UOC I got is for the room discount plus free park-hopping option on 6-day or more tickets. We were getting 7-day parkhoppers anyway so this deal truly saved us about $1,000. We were originally booked under the Summer Meal Deal and would have saved about $650 with that (there are 6 of us in the family) so this was a much better deal. Either you're on to something (order the dvd, indicate staying off-site) or it's just a crazy coincidence that I got my UOC after doing that.

I to just tried this however it would not let me order. apparently they do not mail outside of the u.s. (we are in Canada). there was no place to say we are thinking about staying offsite. :(
I did have to say when I was thinking about going so maybe that will trigger something. keep your fingers crossed for me. :earsboy:

I'm wondering if there is more than one vacation planning video. My daughter tried to order it with the intent of saying we were going to stay off site, but went through the whole process and was never asked where she intended to stay. Is this the regular video off of the WDW site and how did she miss the question about where she intended to stay?!

I don't think there are different DVD's but I do think they change out the version of the questionnaire when ordering the DVD. I just went through the process of ordering (stopping short of actually ordering since I already have the DVD) both as a "guest" and then again after signing in to my Disney account. The interesting thing is that when I signed in as a guest, it didn't ask me when my next trip is planned -- only what the date of my most recent trip was. When I logged in to my Disney account, it asked me when my next trip is planned but it didn't ask me anything about where we plan to stay -- unlike a few weeks ago when it did ask me where we planned to stay for our upcoming trip (even though I've had reservations in their system for months already). Interesting.
