Current Orbitz promo code works for more hotels

I just booked Hojo's for Memorial Day weekend on Orbitz and was able to use the current promo code BESTVACAY for 15% off! Hojo is usually NOT a "promo eligible" hotel. It looks like Orbitz has changed the format of their website so you no longer enter the promo code on the front search page. Instead you enter your search, select your hotel, then your room, select the pre-pay option, then it takes you to the payment screen where you can select the "coupon" from the dropdown. It then takes the promo off your total. I tried it on the new Grand Legacy hotel (formerly Ramada Maingate), Hyatt, Courtyard Marriott with waterpark, the new Homewood Suites Convention Ctr, and Hojo's. None of those hotels used to take the promo codes. FYI, it did not work on the Marriott or Sheraton Park.

It only works if you select the pre-pay option and if the coupon drop-down menu is available. I'm not sure if this is a glitch in their system or if it they will continue to offer additional hotels under their promo codes, but it's a great deal for the moment!

I was thrilled at this discovery since I had $124 in Orbucks + the promo code to apply to our Hojo booking. Yay!

Oh how I wish it went out a little further!! We are going July 2-10th and really wanted to stay at Homewood but the price increased so much from our original June dates we are having to change unless I can get a discount somewhere!

Orbitz is always running promo codes, so maybe they will have another one soon that will include your dates. As is the manta with all travel planning...just keep checking!

That is strange that they moved their promo code option. I did a search and found a direct link, however, I can't seem to recreate it from their home page. http://www.orbitz.com/travel-deals/orbitz-coupon-promo-code/

I know, it's weird, and it really threw me off initially. What's ever more strange is that when I follow your link above and put in the dates and the promo code, Hojo's does not come up at "promo eligible". But, if I just go to the new Orbitz homepage that doesn't let you enter the promo code then I can follow my steps above in my original post, then it works. So weird!

In addition, if you use Ebates as your portal to Orbitz you will get an extra 2% off hotels. Ebates is free, legitimate and awesome as we really get checks each quarter (we no affiliation with Ebates, just happy "customers") . If you use Orbitz you should also sign up for Orbucks. We've saved $30-50 off of future hotel stays several times. The Ebates to Orbitz connection a few weeks ago scored us a really great rate at the DLH, but we switched to the PPH due to the pool construction at the DLH. Still got a rate $300 (total) less than the AP rate directly from Disney. The only drawback to Orbitz is that the reservation is listed through them so Disney may not want to grant any special requests. They ask for my address and wonder why I'm not in Chicago (Orbitz home)....Small price to pay for significant savings.
