Current offer from Disney...

ok, so I have read stuff about some different offers people have recently gotten. I saw online something about getting $$ towards closing. Anyone know the exact details of that current offer?

I haven't heard any recent incentives for new buyers that involved the closing costs (existing owners don't pay closing costs for add-ons). Our closing costs on a 160 point purchase were about $325, so I'd rather have a $500 gift card or 100 incentive points than closing help.

My quide said that DVC actually pays half the actual closing costs. Mine on 100 points were just over $200 (I don't have the info with me right now). Maybe that was what it meant?

When we got our initial contract, you could use the discount from the price per point and use as credit towards your down payment. This is probably what they meant.

I think you're right about the paying 1/2 the closing costs - that was stated to us as well as something they were doing for everyone. So the $325 was OUR portion of the total costs - I had forgotten about that.
