Current July Crowds

We have never been to DW in June or July mainly due to the horror stories we have heard about summer crowds. I have heard, however, that they are not as bad lately. Can anyone enlighten me on this subject? Is mid to late July any worse than early June? Just how bad is the summer nowadays?

WDW has no "slow" time...ever. But generally speaking, summer crowds haven't been bad for years. We've been there every summer since 2015 and many times in total since 2004 and never really had any crowd horror stories. Only July 3rd and 4th in MK itself at night are really crazy busy. We've had a ton of times where it felt really "slow". No, there really isn't a difference in crowd between June and July, except for the 4th weekend...and the 15s show up in July.

I don't think summers have been "bad" for awhile. I've been twice right after July 4th and was surprised how sparse the crowds were, won't hesitate to go back then. (We also go in Spring and Fall and the crowds are much heavier during those times.)

What are the 15s?

Thanks! How was the weather, as far as heat and rain?

What are the 15s?

Large groups of girls from South America celebrating turning 15. The groups will range in size from about 20-70+ each. They walk around the park chanting songs...loudly. They are known to clog lines, cut in front of people, etc...I stay offsite, but I know they stay at value resorts and make a mess of them. Individually, I'm sure the girls are very sweet, we've seen that. However, in a pack mentality, they're annoying...or worse.

It's Florida in the summer time, so it's about what you'd expect. You'll find people who will say it's "hotter than the surface of the sun" and rains all the time. That's a bit of hyperbole. However, it is hot and it can rain. You can expect daytime highs in the upper 80's to mid 90's with pretty high humidity. T-storms can be very hit or miss. It's unlikely to rain all day, but you may or may not get a passing storm. It could be sunny at 2:30pm, storm like crazy at 2:45pm and then be sunny again at 3:00pm. Or it could storm for a few hours. Or you may go several days without any storms at all, except overnight. It could be storming in MK and sunny in AK...really. We've had trips where we had afternoon storms 6 or 7 days straight, and then we've had trips where we went 10+ days without a single one. Just be prepared for storms, use sunscreen, drink plenty of water, take advantage of a/c and use common sense.

The two most recent July trips; it is indeed hot, but it's just as hot or hotter in the midwest where I live. As for rain, one trip it rained every afternoon, but only for short bursts. The most recent trip it didn't rain at all. The biggest thing is to expect heat and plan your days accordingly.
