Does anyone know who the current cruise directors are on the various ships?

thank you.

Sounds like that's all 4. I don't think we know who will be on the Disney Wish, or do we?

I believe Ashley will be moving to the Wish. After her outstanding performance on the Disney Wonder when we were stuck at sea at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, she deserves it. She and Mike “Boy Band” Gibbons were absolutely amazing in the most trying of circumstance. I would sail on the Wish if for no other reason but to sail with her again.

I second all of this. I haven’t heard anything about Mike being back on the ships yet. Or Deano. That whole staff was outstanding.

I can honestly say that I have never watched the Cruise Directors morning broadcast on any of my cruises… but on the WBPC, it became MUST SEE TV every morning. It was too funny. The day that Ashley was all business in uniform above the waist but was still in her pyjama pants when the cameras cut away was hysterical… it was the perfect precursor to the world of work from home with MS Teams meetings.

The team worked so hard to make sure we all still had a great time, despite the world falling apart all around us!

How long were you stuck at sea? I was wondering about that. There were cruise ships stuck out of CA for a while.

The cruise wasn’t lengthened at all. In fact, we got back to San Diego a day early and people had the option to get off the ship then. Grand Cayman was our last port stop, so March 9 was the last day anyone was allowed off the ship until debarkation. Some people chose to get off on the 19th, but my family and I stayed until the originally scheduled date of 03/20.

We always watch the morning show, but these were definitely some of the best ever. The weather report and word of the day were both great bits.

I had forgotten about the pj’s! Thanks for the smile.

All of our port calls after Grand Cayman were cancelled so we were at sea for 11 or 12 days straight, if I recall correctly.

We returned to shore a day early because of the cancelled port calls in Mexico. California closed down the night before we arrived in San Diego. It was a pretty weird experience but — across the board — Disney was outstanding, even after disembarkation. Given the circumstances, Disney laid on buses to get people to the airport which was a pleasant surprise. They also followed up with us after we were home to keep us informed about the presence of COVID-19 on board the ship. (We thought we were a floating safe bubble but it turns out we were tragically wrong.)

The Word of the Day and the weather! I had totally forgotten about those! They were comedy gold!!!

I have never heard that many people go silent so quickly as when Captain Henry came on to give us updates. While we were all having a great time, we knew that the world was on fire. Captain Henry conveyed the news to us in practical, straight forward updates but with the most reassuring voice. Just the sound of his voice cause everyone to stop what they were doing, shush the kids and listen attentively!
