Is it still usually Chip & Dale? Any other characters lately? And is location for Meet & Greet still near Monsters Inc ride? Thanks!

I can't answer your question...but I am here now and completely forgot about the character meet and greet...we are actually heading over to DCA at opening and maybe this will be a good way to start our day

...thanks for posting your question...

We were there in November and saw Pluto. In March it was Chip and Dale. Yes, it's still over by the Monster's Inc. ride. :goodvibes

Thanks for asking. I was wondering if this was worth it. I am leaning towards skip it.

I don't think my kids know who Chip and Dale are.

Now it looks like I need to make a reservation for Goofys Kitchen.

It is my understanding that they alternate between Chip and Dale and Pluto.
ie. 10:30 - 11:00 C&D -- 11:00 - 11:30 P -- 11:30 - 12n C&D etc.

Now there stints my be 1 hour and only do it for 2 hours but you get the point!!!

Chip and Dale have always opened .... when I have been there.

For this Meet 'n Greet, I understand that you receive a photo of some sort if you are a Disney Visa card holder. How do you go about getting this?

They will give you a voucher for a free 5x7 photo at the meet and greet, which is redeemed at the store near the entrance. In our experience, we have always been able to choose any photo we want for free, not just from the Visa Meet and Greet.

Thank you very much for that. I will have to check tomorrow to see when these meet 'n greets are.

for those that have done this - is it worthwhile to go each day of your trip? or is it too bothersome to stop what you are doing to head over there each day? thanks for any info!!

10:30-12:00 :thumbsup2 (At least when the park opens at 10:00) The actual description on the Chase website says 30 minutes after park opening, for 90 minutes.

We don't go out of our way to go do it. If we are at DCA, then definitely, but we don't specifically hop over to do it. I guess it depends on how bad you want to see the characters. Whenever we have done it, there hasn't been anyone there though, so you do usually get more one on one time to hang out with the characters.

Since you can use the voucher for any photo, it never really mattered to us who was there. We've never used them for those photos. (I think it was always Chip & Dale or Pluto, though.) I've even gone over there by myself for a quick picture and voucher (picking up some fastpasses to Soarin' while I was at it). It's nice getting 4 free 5x7s from a 4-day trip.

Just as another data point, our experience was different from others posted here in that we were told that we needed to choose from the Disney Visa Meet & Greet photos when we redeemed our voucher.

Also, in the past, we'd go twice in one day to see both sets of characters, but were very open about only expecting one voucher. We just wanted to visit both characters to have more pictures to choose from. When we did this in early Jan this year, they said we really couldn't come back, but we could check and if they weren't busy, they'd let us back in. :confused3 We did check, and they were deserted (as expected), so they did let us see the other character. I guess they wanted to stand there all alone and not be bothered by guests! :confused3

Ah, well - it was really just another small way that our New Years trip was much less magical than all our DL trips before! :rolleyes1

We have only been to DCA's one time in April 2008. We had Goofy and Pluto. We only waited for 1 other family.

Then last year at Epcot we had Mickey, Goofy and Pluto and we had to wait 1/2 an hour. We did get a great group shot with my parents. With those big names there it was worth the wait.

I am sad to see that Mickey isn't at DCA's anymore.

We try and go every day but if we miss, we miss. We have always been able to use the voucher for any picture we wanted and have also been allowed to visit a second time, just not a second voucher for the free photo which is totally fair. Our children have always been given atleast 3-5 minutes if not more so it is well worth it to us, especially since we rarely have to wait for any other families.

We skipped it on our latest trip... There is a big stupid wall running from the entrance of the backlot all the way back to hyperion theater so you gotta walk all the way around and back to get to the meet & greet... We got in DCA at opening buy couldn't walk fast enough to get there before the meet & greet was over!

Years past it was always mickey and friends in themed cruise attire...

But lately it seems to be C&D and Pluto.. that's what it was today

We have always HAD to use ours only for THAT photo. But you can do it once a day.

That would be great--will try next time.

Thanks for replies--we got Pluto and were happy to learn that the Meet & Greet runs through 12pm now (on a Sunday)--rarely made it there when it used to run just 1 hour long.

When we were there last year, it ran for 90 minutes, starting 30 minutes after DCA opened. So if DCA opens at 10am, the Meet & Greet should run from 10:30am to Noon.
