Current Blue Bayou Menu Reviews?

I see the menu has changed since my last trip. Any reviews? It doesn't look that great to most in my party. I can find an entree that I will eat but my sister usually goes for the chicken option, and there isn't one that she will eat currently. Can she order from the kids' menu? Or order 4 cups of the Chicken Gumbo? 😄

ETA: Pictures of the current offerings would be great!

I’m with you…I haven’t been a fan of BB for awhile but made a reservation to give them another chance. I was thinking like your sister…stick with the chicken 🐔 gumbo. Hahaha.

I can’t give a review of the new menu since I haven’t been since last summer, but I am so disappointed in this restaurant. We used to go every single visit but we don’t think it’s worth it anymore. First they stopped including the soup or salad with the entrees, then they stopped serving the delicious rolls (are those back yet?) and now they’ve taken away the surf & turf I’ve been ordering for years. Also I had one of their cocktails last summer and it was ridiculously expensive and I don’t think it had one drop of alcohol in it.

I think everyone should try it at least once for the atmosphere but we won’t go back until the menu improves. Sorry to rant but it makes me sad to lose one of our park traditions!

No apologies necessary! My last visit was in January. My food was OK, but my sister (mentioned in the OP, and not one I would classify as a picky eater) has declared BB her worst meal of the trip her last 2 visits. I feel like it has definitely been going steadily downhill. I just love sitting by the water. That's why I go back. If it was a stand alone restaurant based on the menu/food, I would never give it the time of day.

I would love a report back! I kind of feel like my upcoming BB reservation is in the "I will give them one more chance" territory.
You might be going before me. My ressie in August. I made it for our anniversary, but when my hubby finds out that I booked BB he may nix it. :rotfl2:He really is over it there.

Went last Wed and did the Fantasmic package. Walls were down BTW. Got the filet mignon and it was okay, but a small portion, and $90. Kid got the chicken breast and it was small and dry as hell so we asked for the kids pasta as a replacement.

Wow, that sounds awful. I was wondering about that chicken breast. Was there any sauce? Seasoned? When I read the description - which just says "Chicken Breast" - I was imagining something dry with no flavor. I will stick to the pasta for my daughter.

Nothing on the menu appeals to most of my family….

Shame since everyone says its amazing in there….

Its a very limited menu for those who do not like spice

Did not include any dipping sauce and was not seasoned although you could ask for ketchup, A1 steak or whatever else sauce they have. I emphasize it was dry as hell. I wouldn't have ate it.

I went last night and walls were down and boats were testing - that however was only good part! Had the filet and it was just okay, my kid had steak and ordered medium and it came out basically rare without her side if strawberries. Service took over an hour - our reservation was 5:30 and food wasn’t at our table until 6:26. The whole thing from Service on down was not good, frankly it was terrible.

That sounds like an awful experience. I am rethinking keeping my reservation.

The menu choices don't excite me either and I have no idea what entree my picky 10 year old would even eat since the kids menu is 3-9. I got caught up in the frenzy when they first released the reservations but now I am debating if I will even keep the our lunch booking. I am definitely not going to do the Fantasmic Dining Package and will just stick with the Standard one at River Belle Terrace, it doesn't seem worth paying almost $40 more a person (which is even more painful when converted into Canadian $) for those menu choices. I know it's more about the viewing but figure the with the Standard Package we will still get a decent view. We can still do the lunch @ BB for less if just for the ambiance and experience since it is somewhere I've wanted to go,

I noticed they also got rid of the kids mac and cheese. Why keep limiting the menu options especially for kids? Frustrating. We used to love Blue Bayou but our experience on Thanksgiving there last year was so horrible with all these changes and looks like it's still downhill from there... guess if we wanted to enjoy the ambiance we could just get a salad and dessert and keep it simple.

Anyone know if they released the new Fantasmic menu yet?

Ugh. I think I'm cancelling. I'm not going to torture my husband if the reviews are like right now. I'm going to be back at the Park on July 6th, so I'm going to ask around and see what's up in there.

I've only been once since the parks reopened and that was in Dec. I went with my sister and we split the Monte Cristo, which we found quite delicious and plenty of food even though it's smaller than the old one. We had a lovely table by the water and we each had a hurricane drink. Actually, we may have had 2. Anyway, our waiter was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
