The exchange rate is falling.
A few weeks ago it was $2 for every £1 in the agents special deals.
:wizard: Maybe some pixie dust will help it go back up by October :thumbsup2

I got £1 - $1.89 at the Post Office the other day. No commission charge either. They tend to have pretty good exchange rates usually even when some other people don't.

If you can get around $1.90 that's still a very good rate, can recall struggling to get $1.70 on some previous holidays.

As Johnny mentioned anything over $1.90 is a great rate.

I find Marks & Spencers have the best rates where I live too.

We are still getting $2.01 on Nationwide credit card today. I think there was just a few days in the middle of our hoilday it slipped below the $2 but most of it has been over $2. Yet again glad we didn't take any offers from exchanges.

until the Fed dropped the interest rate last week, the trend was definitely of a strengthening dollar.
But now that the Fed dropped the interest rate, the trend is back in the direction of a weakening dollar. So maybe you'll get a better rate in the coming weeks.

Ive noticed that the Cheque Centre usually offers the best rates in town, if you have one nearby.

The currency market actually went up back over $2 to the £ on Thursday so hope it continues that way tomorrow :)
