Currency Exchange

Hello everyone.

My DH and I will be going to Disney in August.
He was wondering if you get a better exchange rate at the resorts or to buy the Anerican money at a Canadian bank before we leave. Any thoughts or knowledge on this ???

I always exchange my $$ before I go to the States. For vacation, I would purchase traveller's cheques in U.S. dollars.

Have a great time - we'll at WDW from the 22 to 29 of August.

Two years ago a friend of my dad's said it is way cheaper to exchange your money in the U.S. I thought it was hard to believe but he said it was from a guy who goes to Florida all the time. My parents didn't exchange hardly any, brought all CDN cash with them, I didn't.

Well we tried everywhere and the rates were awful. At the border they wanted 1.67 (at the time the bank was 1.61), the banks in Florida wouldn't touch it because we didn't have an account there. He ended up paying 1.66 at the Magic Kingdom. Lesson learned...trust thy daughter before thy friend!!!
