anyone know if it is better to do currency exchange at the airport or at the resort?

We will be staying at Pop's Century and want to know which one has the best exchange rate?

Thanks

I would do neither-its very expensive at the airport-i dont know about at the resort-i was actually unaware that this was possible.
I know when you are traveling FROM the US to another country the best exchange rate is obtained by simply withdrawing cash in Euros, or what ever, from a local ATM. I would think it would work the same way, to simply withdraw US dollars from an ATM. Otherwise exchanging at your bank before you travel to the US is probably the best option.

I agree with this. Try to find a place where you live - to see if you can convert some of your currency to $$. (Personally - I do not like to travel to a foreign country without any local currency.)

The rest - would be from an ATM (for my cash needs) and I would charge all the rest (hotels, car services, restaurants etc)

I ditto going to your local bank. Something else you want to check into is your cc. Most places will take a cc, even McD's ;) Once we got to Disney we had no need for cash, except for tipping.

Neither. Don't exchange currency. Just get local currency from an ATM. You can use your credit card just about everywhere.

When I travel internationally, I usually take a small amount ($200) in cash and I do an exchange at the airport on the small amount. That way I have local currency for anything I need at the airport, such as food, local transportation or any other impulsive puchase.

For the rest of the trip, I use a credit card or use an ATM to withdraw cash. The nice thing about going to WDW is that I rarely need cash because I use my key to the kingdom and settle up at the end of the trip. I might use a little cash for snacks, but I like not having to even worry about carrying it while at WDW.

I have heard that at DLR you can buy Disney dollars with foreign currency and that they give you an okay exchange rate...don't know if it's the same at WDW.

we have canadian $$ in hand from Christmas but right now live in Costa Rica and the bank exchange here is really not great. We just want spending $$ in case we need some cash in hand. We are thinking of just paying everything with our CC but I want cash in hand for some misc as well as tipping and toll gate since we will be renting a car from MCO

What is DLR?
