Hello to all! When do the kids go back to school for next year? We are starting a new schedule here in NC and are getting out the first of June and are going back at the end of August sometime. This is our first year on this schedule so I am not real sure of the exact dates. I just wanted to get a general idea of other schedules.

My DD gets out of school on May 20th and usually start back the first Friday in August. Second week is the latest the will start back.

Our last day is May 27th and we go back on Aug. 15th.

We are out the last day in May and return August 25.

Also in NC ours will be from 25 Aug until 8 June. They will get less than a two week break for Christmas. The school board is looking at Sat. school, if we have too many snow/ice days. The ending line of the article was "the public wanted it" personally, I never saw a vote for the public, I know I would have voted NO.

The trend does seem to be moving towards starting school way earlier but getting out about the same time. Here is SC Upstate, we'll start Aug. 22. LowCountry SC starts Aug. 8 but we all get out sometime between Memorial Day and June 8.

I was hoping to plan a WDW trip immediately when school gets out but I found out that the first week of June is usually Gay Days.

We are in Union County, NC, and the last day of school this year is May 20 or 21st. We go back Aug 3rd.

I am in McDowell County. I just heard about this change a few months ago and I really hope they go through with it. I would love for the kids to have a longer summer vacation. Also, that may give us a better time to go to disney with not quite so many crowds. I thought most people were already on this schedule or at least moving to it. They havent mentioned anything about Saturdays yet! Hope they dont. I wouldnt like that either!! Thanks for all the input!

Polk County, FL schools (the ones that are not year round) get out May 21 and start back the beginning of August.

If we ever went during summer vacation! We are going again in November. But, the week after school gets out would be great, too!

here in NJ most schools start either the day after Labor Day or the Thurs or Fri before, depending on how late in Sept Labor Day is. We get out sometime between the middle and end of June.
