Curious Question About EMH?

I have a curious question, last week we went into MK to use the late EMH I noticed a huge crowd heading towards the entrance. How do the Disney staff know who needs to leave the park? My husband and I were just trying to figure out how would you know who is staying on property and who is not.

You have to use your ticket or magic band to get in line for rides.

No one has to leave night time EMH but the first time someone gets turned away from a ride they usually leave. At that point you can basically only eat and shop so many people don't want to stay around so head out.

Was the huge crowd heading into or out of the park? If they were headed out, then they were the usual wave of humanity that exits after Wishes or the evening parade. That happens pretty much any night. Non resort guests are not required to leave the park for EMH. They just can't enter any ride or show. CMs at the attraction entrances turn away anyone without a MB that scans as a resort guest. And of course a nonresort guest can't enter a park once EMH has started.
