Curious about the Holidays and Disney

being new to these boards AND to Disney I really don't know much about these special events.
So i'm curious about the Christmas and New years events. Does Disney stay open throughout Christmas Eve and Day? Same for New years? How do they celebrate? I'm sure it must be exciting, I already told my DW I would love to spend my holidays at Disney with my upcoming DD along the way. Thanks guys

WDW is always open. I think they have only been closed a handful of times, due to hurricanes or 9/11. It is open all of those holidays, usually later hours too, but has been known to close due to the park being at maximum attendance/high crowds.

Christmas eve/day is one of the busiest days of the year (I know, i worked there during it, never saw the end of the line at my register!).....but most of early December and January are pretty slow times and great times to go. The weather is incredible to enjoy too and disney does it up with special events including parades, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Osborne Spectacle of lights and so much more. Definitely now one of my favorite times to go is in December (just avoid the week of Christmas or after).
