Curious about summer park hours

Hi all,

Heading down in mid-August for a 5-day trip @ BWV and it's the first summer trip for us (in order to accommodate our friends' schedule -- we usually do Spring or Fall) In any case I was surprised to see such limited park hours in the summer. The last two times I was there (Oct 2015 and April 2016) parks were open quite late (esp MK which was often til 11pm or later). For August there is nothing later than 9 except an occasional EMH. Just curious whether park times have been reduced across the board or just at that time of year?

Hours will be adjusted before your trip. It's just seems that Disney has been waiting longer to adjust the park hours than they used to.

For my July 2016 trip, Disney didn't adjust hours until June 2016.

Disney keeps the hours as short as they can, adjusting for projected attendance as dates come closer.

Yet they ask us to make villa reservations 11 months out, dining reservations 180 days out, and FP+ 60 days out ... all while guessing those hours

They have gotten into a trend of modifying hours within a few weeks of the dates. I consider it one of the worst operational decisions. The hours they are posting now are fewer than they have been in many, many years and yet they have more required planning in place than ever before.

Ah, got it. Pretty frustrating for advance planning to be sure!

Although annoying for some of us, it must be maddening for front line employees who may not know their work schedules until just a week or two in advance.

Because of school and work,we usually go sometime in the last 2 weeks of August. The hours will be adjusted as previously mentioned. Really want the later hours be cause of the heat and humidity. We usually see the changes a couple weeks before we go. Have a great trip!
