Cure For Cancer?

I haven't seen any posts about this so thought I'd share. Please read this.

I've been meaning to post this since I know many of our fellow Disers have had cancer. I just thought someone else would post before me. But tonight I was reminded about it in an odd way.

My DH was really excited about this so I told him "Why don't you write your congressman about it?" Just to get him to stop bugging me . Anyway tonight we get a call, it was Congressman Anders Crenshaw's office. They said that they go through thousands and thousands of emails a day for the congressman and don't forward 10% of it to him but they were definitely going to bring THIS to his attention. They even told DH to please contact them again if he came across any other things of intrest.

Of course, my cynical side thinks that if there is no real money to made in this effort, it just won't get pushed.

When I read the title, I thought it was either a scam or a joke.

I'm begining to understand that dynamic here. It's rather sad.

If the drug actually works, it will get pushed. If this article is legitimate and accurate, docs can write it off-label.

Well, let's just hope they do. But it does sound like they need to do some studies.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the human trials. I always felt that cancer had individual markers not only for each type of the disease but each person it affected.

This would be the news of the century if it is true.

Just trying to understand the meaning of your post... Are you saying the cure won't come in our lifetime?

There is a company that was in the building near where I worked in Austin called Introgen. They were working on some really amazing cancer research that sounds along these lines. I saw it on the news a couple times, but have not heard much in the national press. They were using an individuals own cells, treated, to go in and fight the cancer. I hope I live to see the day they can cure all forms of cancer.

I sometimes wonder if a cure is found, if we'll even find out about it.
