Cups of ice water

Does anyone know the size of the cups of ice water you can request at CS locations? I mostly drink water rather than soda or juice so I'm guessing I'll probably request a few glasses of ice water. Are the cups teeny tiny or enough that I could dump it into my reusable water bottle and stay hydrated for a little while?

A couple other water questions. (Geez, who would have thought I'd be planning my WDW vacation down to the water details!):lmao:

- Are there other good, clean spots to refill my water bottle? Like do some of the CS spots or resort food courts have self-serve beverage machines with a water button? Using drinking fountains at places like theme parks doesn't seem that hygienic to me.

- Since I won't drink a lot of soda when I'm there (maybe the occasional lemonade or something), do CS restaurants typically allow a substitution for the beverage that comes with the meal? I think we'll have plenty of food already so I'm not sure what we'd even need but I'd hate to just lose out on part of the credit.

the free ice water cups are generall small somewhere around 8 oz or so. a good place to refill your water bottle is at the first aid station or baby center. they're colder then the water fountains and taste much better even though they still taste kinda funky. about substitutions i'm not sure. i would think they would allow you to get another beverage (coffee, milk) if you didn't want the soda.

I always asked for a large ice water, and received a cup about 8 inches tall. Not sure how many oz that is. I think maybe 16, because 1 crystal light packet was just right.

You can also get hot water for your own tea or those individual paks of taster's choice (which taste the same as wdw coffee to me anyway...).

Thank you! I wouldn't have thought of going to those place for water. Hopefully it doesn't taste too funny but I might bring some of those sugar free powdered drink mixes with me to see if that helps.

I'm thinking now that maybe I'd just get milk instead of the soda and give it to DD since she loves milk and tends to drink a few small glasses a day when we're at home.

I dont know about water cup sizes, but Grandmother, a retired nurse, taught me a trip about drinking from water fountains....
Let the water run for about 10 seconds before you use it!

I always just refill my water bottle at the fountains and I've never had a problem. It's not always cold, but I like to keep drinking as much as I can to stay hydrated!

We refilled water bottles for our trip. Our first day was at DHS and the water from the fountains was fine. Second day was at MK and no matter where we got the water, it tasted gross. So, we went to walmart and they had the giant bottles of Smart Water for $1. We stocked up on those and took them in to refill our bottles with. The electrolytes in the Smart Water also help a lot since you are sweating so much.

You can ask for cups of ice (no water), which is what we do. We put them into insulated 24 ounce water bottles, and fill with water from drinking fountains.

DH would fill up our water bottles with ice from the ice machine at the resort before we went to the parks. Every time we got ice water it was in the same size cup as the soda, so probably 16 ounces.

Its been a while since I did the dining plan but they used to allow you to get bottled water as your beverage selection. Worked out well for me as I am not a soda drinker either. Whatever was left after I ate got added to my refillable nalgene bottle. I'd request a cup of ice and add that as well.
