Ok, I am a bit confused. Are there two different cups that you can buy for refills in the Universal parks? It sounds like one goes with the meal deal and one is independent of it, but still costs a bit ($1) to refill it each time. Is that right? We are not planning on getting the meal deal, but would be interested in a refillable cup.
TIA

You can still buy the refillable cups without the meal deal and they sell them in the shops or as most will tell you everywhere just make sure you get the ones that are the refillable ones and they also have a one day one also

The cups with the meal deal give free refills on the days you have puchased the meal deal for. You can use them on later dates and pay for discounted refills. There are several kinds of refillable mugs that can be used for discounted refills. Some of them are the same cups as the meal deal cups and some are themepark related cups such as MIB or Spongebob. You can buy those at any of the counter service restaurants and also at the drink vendors and at the main Universal Store and a few other stores. The first drink is free with the cup but thereafter are discounted at both parks and Citywalk.

One important distinction to note...

Meal Deal sipper cup- 7.99 and free refills at Meal Deal locations. Can ONLY be refilled at Meal Deal locations (3 restaurants per park). You must have the Meal Deal to use this.

Other Sipper Cups- 7.49 or so with 0.69 refills (unless it was raised recently). These can be refilled anywhere, including carts, and can be used without having the meal deal.

IMO, the souvenir cups (non-meal deal) are the better value, as they can be used day after day, year after year. :cool2:

It all really just depends whether or not you plan to get the the meal deal. If you are a fan of meal deal and will be getting on your trip, get the meal deal sipper cups. Otherwise you get the standard ones.

THANK YOU! Finally, it's CLEAR what costs what and how much it is to refill! Now.....anyone have PICTURES of said mugs?!? (Hey, I have to obsess on something...this is at least a harmless obsession! LOL!:lmao: )
