They may still be one game away but I do think all you Cubs fans will be celebrating an NL Pennant win very shortly. With the last two games at Wrigley and Prior and Wood going for the Cubs, the Marlins will be hard pressed to win one, let alone two. I think your patience will be rewarded soon.

If my Yankees take the AL Pennant and we have a Yankees/Cubs
World Series (Baseball nirvana if you ask me ), I'm not looking forward to facing that Cubs' pitching staff. Prior and Wood are looking a lot like a younger version of Johnson/Schilling from 2001. Not a happy thought for Yankees fans .

It only seems appropriate that they win it in Chicago - in front of their long suffering fans!!!!

I totally agree with Figment22 - the Marlins will have a tough road coming back to Wrigley and facing Prior and Wood - just don't see them taking two from Chicago with those two on the mound - plus the home field advantage of Wrigley....just something about that place.

PLUS....the spirit of Harry Carey is watching over every pitch.

I was listening to the Dan Patrick show on ESPN radio this afternoon (gee that's a Disney connection ) and he said that the Cubs have not lost consecutive games with Prior and Wood pitching all season long and I believe he said that was in nine chances. That would seem to bode well for the Cubs. I hope they do it for you guys tomorrow night in game 6. I know how gut wrenching a game 7 can be! As good as Kerry Wood is, if I were a Cubs fan, I wouldn't want to see Pudge Rodriguez in an elimination game. The man has just been lethal in the postseason so far.

I'm going to be on my way home from the funeral of a friend and co-worker that died in a car crash on Friday at the time this game is played, so I'm going to miss the whole thing (funeral is 5-6 hours away back in his hometown in WI). So I need my Cubbies to give me some good news when I get home from a very long and difficult day, something to bring a little joy back for me.
