Cuban Sandwich @ ABC Commissary

Can anyone tell me about this sandwich? Is it pulled pork with BBQ sauce?

No, it's not pulled pork....I remember it having ham coldcuts on it and quite honestly, it was the WORST thing we had in Disney! I'd steer clear....

Thanks for the heads up. I once ordered something like that..it looked like baloney..and it was disgusting. I did find a pulled pork sandwich listed on allears at Studio's Catering Co. I think I'll take my Mom there.

A Cuban sandwich traditionally has ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. I have never had the ABC sammie to say if it is authentico.
A Cuban sandwich is definitely not BBQ sauce and pulled pork, though.

I will second that, it was disgusting! Worst thing eaten at disney and my biggest let down the whole trip. Do not eat at ABC Commissary!

It is GROSS.I steered clear an ordered a burger last week..equally nasty.My DH ate the fish and found 3 HUGE BLACK HAIRS in his food.I usually avoid this place like the plague but DD was starving an d it was only after 10 am.The Backlot and Pizza planet did not open till 11am or later.But this place is gross.

As with all food, taste is very subjective. I wouldn't be caught dead eating liver and it's my Mom's favorite food. I used to have to leave the house if she was cooking it!

As for whether a restaurant is good or bad...that's slightly subjective too. You can be a leisurely diner and like a restaurant whose service is considered "slow" for someone elses style. I love to ask questions and hear people's opinions..but I hardly ever make a decision based on someone else's experience..I always try to see for myself. I ate at the ABC last year with my daughter (I think I had the fish) and I have nothing bad to report on that experience...but if I were RMulieri I'd be singing a different tune I'm sure!

I honestly thought it was pretty good when I had it. But then I love to try things I've never done before. The service at ABC can be really bad though...we tend to steer towards PP instead, nothing fancy, but service has always been good, as has the food.

I have to wonder if those who think the cuban sandwich was nasty and gross have ever had a cuban sandwich before.

I live in Tampa which is pretty much home of the cuban sandwich and while the one at ABC is not the best I've ever had it was far from nasty and gross. I've had some really excellent, authentic cuban sandwiches and I think the one at ABC is adequate although a bit dry. I usually have to add mayo to it.

yes I have had a cuban and the one I had at ABC was far from adequate, you we lucky to order your with fries, I got mine with the plantain chips which I did not find very tasty either. I just remembered about my DD's kids meal, she got the applesauce, well at the ABC Comm. it was the only place in Disney or anywhere for that matter that gave room temperature applesauce, my DD was like, my applesauce is gross its warm, so I inquired about getting one that had be refridgerated and was told they only serve room temerature, I said Thats gross and exchanged it for grapes, they were cold.
