CTTM - Bonnie?

Hi!
Yes, I'm here! Sorta.... Let me give everyone a quick update. We had a death in the family this week, so I haven't been here much. That's the quick part
Hubby took a job. Primarily for health insurance as they wouldn't let my son play football without it and for anyone who is self-employed... Private insurance is upwards of $900/month!!! The job he took will be for electrical installations, etc... Next year, he will be going to LA and MS to help rebuild. We've discussed him driving tractor trailer down now with donations, but we decided to help here locally so he can train. (He's a truck driver by trade, but has cooked for the last 3 years and now is learning the electrical trade).
This leaves me to run our pizza shop solo. I have 1 employee who is great! The other 2 people I hired, not so great. One just decided to stop showing up (our philosophy is no show, no call = no job) so she's gone and the other guy is still in school and the hours don't work too well for him. I do have 1 person I would like to hire as a manager, but honestly, I don't want to be there, I want to be home with my kids who really need at least 1 parent home at night. With the shop, we aren't getting home until 10 PM, homework isn't getting done and dinner is just as late. It's driving me nuts. Add all of their afterschool activites and I'm wondering just how to do it all! Basically, I need a wife. If anyone knows someone on the South Shore in MA and would like a job, please send them in! (to the shop, not the wife part, hubby couldn't handle wives, he can barely understand the one he has).
On the other hand, let's face it, the economy right now stinks!!! NO ONE is going out to eat; gas prices are just too ridiculous. I know this is only going to get worse once people start getting their home heating bills. We just got our first one and I was floored! I swear they made sure they delivered in Sept. to nail people before the lower guaranteed pricing goes into effect Oct. 1st!!!
All in all, I am thinking right now, it would be best to close the shop and re-open it closer to home (currently an hour away and $20 round trip in gas!) That's a hard decision to make as we really would miss it and our customers, but unless we moved closer to it, it's really a burden at this point. That and I hate having Jordan with me there. I've joked about taking out a booth and putting in her playpen. She does like when the customers give her attention though. But it's no place to raise a baby. I do feel guilty though cuz that's where hubby and I first met so it holds sentimental value, but let's face it, I'm tired!!!
I've been spending a lot of my spare time at our shop taking donations for the LA and MS guests that are arriving at Otis on the Cape. I've gotten a mini-van full already from people as well as members of CttM. I'm excited about this as I know they will receive it and none will get caught up in red tape. I have a friend who works for the state police who is volunteering at the base so she is taking items with her for me. I've spoken with several people in Bourne and I'm amazed at how excited everyone there is (even students!!!) to have new classmates. It's amazing!!! Even though their school is already over-crowded, they are looking forward to it and making everyone feel welcome.
OK as for CttM, you see, it's midnight and I'm just sitting down to it now. Kids are all in bed, and I get time for me! I have finished 90% of the new site. Today, my inspiration was a candy apple. If anyone would like a preview, PM me, I'm looking for feedback on the new look. I still need to make a few more images as well as include navigation. I had the help desk working great until we switched servers. Now the code isn't taking the new server version into consideration and poops out. Grrrrr!
I've been promoting the site to as many people I think would understand. I used to work in IT and have been in contact with several people who are looking for something different. I've been working with a marketing analyst as well as a salesperson and have been giving serious thought to the direction on CttM and expanding. With the new look going into effect, I hope to hire 2 more people and really focus on the site with advertisers and merchants. Even though hubby helps promote CttM, he gets that glazed-over deer-in-the-headlights look whenever I try to bounce ideas off him.
If anyone would like to apply, please email me. I will be looking for 1 more customer service rep and an affiliate manager. I am really excited about looking for an affiliate manager as this person will be responsible for doing the updating, working with the merchants and getting more offers.
Redemptions are going out as I can get to them. I am at about 5 a day right now. I've been taking ideas for new redemptions and will be adding them. Please do not take offense if I do not reply to support requests right away. I don't have the leisure I did to get out to pick up redemptions as I'm stuck at the shop. I have been getting them sent out from ordering them online which has helped. I do feel bad that I can't just sit down, get them all out at once and move on to the next item.
OK, I guess this is more than a quick update, lol. This is kinda a brain dump which will be expressed on the new site. I've added a blog (albeit a small one temporarily) which will be it's own page in full blog style. It will basically be these kind of brain dumps which I find to help me focus and clear my thoughts. I've mentioned to hubby that if we do sell the shop, I am getting an office!
I've read that people think I'm giving up on the site and that I've got way too much on my plate and I'll be the first to admit, I've got a full day, every day, but I will never give up on CttM; I enjoy it far too much. I wish I could call everyone now and then to meet them (I just called one member Wednesday) and it's wicked cool to talk to the person on the other end of the email. If I can find a way to, I would like to add live calls to the help desk. If anyone thinks I write a lot, try spending an hour chatting!
It's now just about 1 and I've been writing for an hour. Gotta get up for DS's football game in the A.M.
