We have ressies for CSR @ $114/night for our anniversary over Thanksgiving for 4 nights. I called today to check and see if there are any other openings for Florida resident and she told me they had POFQ @ $148/night for the same time. I held that ressie until I decide which one to go to. Please help me decide the pros & cons for each one.

Hi DisneyBiggDogg!
I can give you the pros for CSR, not least of which is that you are getting a much better rate than POFQ. We stayed at CSR this past June. We had only stayed at Deluxes before, so we were curious what CSR would be like. We LOVED it! It was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous, surrounding a pretty lake. We enjoyed peaceful strolls around the lake several times. The rooms were nice and big and clean. (That will be the case at POGQ too, I'm sure.) The bus service was great. If you stay near Bus Stop #2, it is actually the first picked up and it will always have a place to sit. The buses don't go to any other resorts, which is nice! The quiet pools were convenient and very pretty, but the main pool was loads of fun! It had a great slide which my kids enjoyed (me too). I liked the shape of the pool because although it was big, I could always see my kids. It had a HUGE hot tub!! The food court had plenty of choices and was pretty darn good, for a food court. Not cheap, but you can get vouchers which are a great deal here. Plus, the servings were huge and we oftern split meals.

OK---That's probably more info than you were looking for! Good luck in your decision!!

CSR is a great resort that offers many deluxe amenities. Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info. The big difference is the size of the resorts. CSR is a larger resort than POFQ.

We've never stayed at CSR but the theme doesn't appeal to us since we leave in AZ. We live Southwest all the time and like a change.

We really enjoy the POFQ, however, you are getting a better price at CSR. POFQ is much more intimate than CSR. It is smaller in that it only has 1000 rooms vs. over 2000 rooms at CSR. It is also a sister resort to Riverside so you can use all the facilities at Riverside which are only a short walk away. There is only one bus stop at POFQ and all rooms are very close (within 3-5 minutes depending on how fast you walk) to the food court, main lobby area and pool. There is only one pool at the FQ but Riverside has a large pool and several quiet pools, all of which you can also use. We really like the boat ride to Downtown Disney from FQ ... especially at night. However, sometimes at Thanksgiving it can get very chilly in the evening on that boat...be prepared. We also like how close it is to Downtown Disney since we tend to shop at night and the ride back to the hotel is relatively short compared to other resorts.

The food court is smaller than CSR but you have a second foodcourt at Riverside. Often, we will take a stroll along the river down to the Riverside food court when we want a change in pace. The gift shop at FQ is small but has everything. There is a much larger one at Riverside, right down the road. FQ does not, though, have a sit down restaurant. They closed that many years ago. Boatwrights, which is pretty good, is a sit down at Riverside. SCATS is the lounge at FQ and it is small but nice. We like the jazz music that plays constantly there and throughout the resort. Riverside has a great entertainer at their lounge. He is worth a special trip to see and a great family night out different from the parks.

The pool at FQ is nicely themed but the slide is for younger kids as well as the playground. The slide at Riverside is more suited for older kids. And,there is fishing, for a fee, of course, at Riverside which is nice. I think you have to be a guest at Riverside or FQ in order to fish but I may be wrong.

I think you will like either resort. FQ was just rennovated so I am assuming everything is still pretty new there. Not sure about the shape of CSR rooms, etc.

We will be staying at FQ starting Thanksgiving day for three days and then moving to AKL for 8 days.

We have stayed at both and CSR IMHO is nicer. CSR bus service is alot better.

We stayed at both this past March. We much preferred CSR for the pool area.

We spent 5 nights at each resort in April. They are both nice places to stay, but we were really impressed with CSR. The bus service was much better. I agree with the comments in buckeye's post, and would add that we enjoyed Siesta's & the pool bar. It has a limited menu, but the food we had was very good. The room was newly redone at POFQ so that was great, but the room & location in the Cabanas at CSR was perfect for the two of us.
